Very nice,clean, quite, safe. The shower had no Hot water. To fix this we were given a key to another room but there was only warm water for a short time.

Overall, great experience! Lorena (owner) and Jose (receptionist) really nice people that went beyond my expectations! On the hand, there’s a “lady” Isabel, the worse person you can interact with. A sociopath that you don’t want to deal with! If you encounter her don’t even listen to her just reach out to Lorena she will make the best decision for you! Almost forgot, they serve the best breakfast too!

The location is excellent. The room is a bit dated but that's okay because it was comfortable and clean. I stayed in a superior room since a tasty breakfast was included. and that convenience is well worth it , saving precious time in the morning. The staff is friendly, easy-going and helpful. Definitely, I'd stay here again - a safe, attractive boutique hotel. Thumbs up Hotel Filatelia!!!

Another great visit
I am always amazed by how friendly the staff is and accommodating even though I speak very little Spanish. This is my 3rd stay and I booked for my next trip in October. The included breakfast is great. My room has always been clean and has hot water for the shower. The new elevator is a big improvement.

All rooms are not of the same quality
Our second stay at this hotel was not as pleasant as the first stay. The room we were given had not been properly cleaned, the fridge didn't work and we had no towels. Even the service that evening was not the same. On our first stay, the front manager helped us with our luggages and on this stay, nothing, no offering of services and we had to ask for towels. The condition of room 401 was really not at par (old and not well kept) compared to our first stay on the 6th floor. We do like the location and the Manager Daniella is very kind and apologized and offered us to change our room. We would still recommend this hotel but do ask to see your room since none are the same. Their free breakfast to the restaurant connected to the hotel is really good and they are a dog friendly hotel.

First time in Quito with a dog
We enjoyed the friendlyness of the front desk since we arrived in the middle of the night. They had arranged for our transportation which we had great services from the driver and we felt very comfortable staying at this hotel with our dog (no extra cost) and the apartment was spacious.

Basic accommodation in good location
This is a basic but centrally located hotel in a safe feeling area near one of the main parks. Room came with bed, basic furnishings, storage, TV, good wifi and was quiet, though I had no neighbours during the stay. Bathroom was cramped but toiletries are provided and shower was effective. No heating or cooling, but then there's no summer or winter. Front door is locked but reception opened it quickly everytime I arrived. Breakfast is offered - didn't try it, hosts were welcoming and helpful including printing out tour pickup details emailed to the property (pickups happen at one of the expensive nearby hotels). Property is within walking distance of the city centre (cathedral / palace etc), as well as having access to the park and there being some fast food locations near by. Comfortable basic accommodation in a good location for a reasonable price. Found that the cost of a pre-arranged taxi from the new airport is about the same as the taxi stand, so may be worth pre-booking for the peace of mind.

Great Place and Going Back
The staff was very helpful, even when there was a language barrier. The place was very clean and a great location. I am planning a trip in October and bringing a friend along and we both will stay here. The free breakfast was a great added benefit..

Good for the price
I was very pleased with the staff everyone was very friendly,informative about areas to visits abd where all time acailable to answer any inquiries. Area was great to walk aroubd,there is a park around the cirner with different tyoe of local food and craftmanship merchandises.

The location and price of this hotel are unbeatable. I found my room to be very comfortable and clean. The free breakfast was a nice touch. Hotel staff was unfriendly and generally not very welcoming or helpful, which was the only major downside for me.

I enjoyed it the hotel is still undergoing some repairs but once its done it will be very comfortable, the location was good transit was available and you could walk everywhere

No heat in freezing hotel, not even a space heater
I travel alot throughout the word and this place was by far the worst place I have ever been. No heat when the temp. inside was colder than the outside which was at 50f. filthy walls, paint peeling throughout, windows dirty, dishes dirty, not even dish cloths to clean the dishes, no washcloths, thin tacky towels, hair all over the bed and covers, remote controls didn't work in the hotel, couldn't find a working one, empty light sockets and the breakfast that is served everyday, as they say, was just a bagged breakfast, yes a bagged breakfast, including a pack of saltines and an extremely small box of cereal and a kid's orange juice.

Todo excelente, solo que los desayunos no son exactamente en el horario estipulado, lo que nos hizo desayunar fuera en ocasiones. En mi caso, me cobraron adicional al costo separado por hacer check in antes ya que el error de horario no era de ellos si no de expedia. El personal excelente, el trato excelente y la limpieza impecable, solo hay que tener cuidado con que cobren demás…

Hotel pequeno, muito confortável, ambiente familiar, bem localizado. Ótima relação custo x beneficio. Se não está acostumado com as refeições equatorianas, recomendo a reserva sem café da manhã, pois há otimos locais no entorno.

Me gusto mucho, solo tuvo un pequeño inconveniente con el tema del desayuno, en la reserva se mencionaba que estaba incluido en la misma, pero en el hotel les aparecía que no incluía. No se si esto fue un problema más bien de la página o del hotel, y bueno esto causa malestar, de ahí todo muy bien.
