Zowel naar gewoon toerisme als naar het oorlogsverleden, is er voor iedereen iets te beleven. Onze hond en Nikita kwamen ook overeen dus die amuseerden zich ook. Het heeft prima bedden en is van alles voorzien inclusief een vaatwasser en een wasmachine. Het appartement ligt rustig gelegen en is van alle gemakken voorzien. Vanaf het balkon zie je op ongeveer 1 km de zee liggen. Op enkele kilometers rijden van het appartement ligt het World War II museum, wat zeer de moeite waard is om te bezoeken. Verdere bezienswaardigheden van de WOII zijn iets verder weg. Een “must” wat ons betreft, is de D-Day Experience. Dit museum bestaat uit 3 delen: een simulatie in een echt WOII-vliegtuig – een hele mooie film over D-day in verschillende talen en een museum. De eigenaar zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij. Kleding toen we thuis kwamen stonk ook muf. Moet echt een keer helemaal schoongemaakt worden ,en meer de ramen open zetten. Dorpje was dood! Niets open!We waren aangewezen de eerste avond te gaan zoeken naar een restaurant. Beetje jammer, want zo te lezen is er van alles te doen 800 meter verderop. Omgeving was prachtig! Es hat an nichts gefehlt, der persönliche Kontakt mit Joanna und Jacques war großartig. Sie überraschte uns immer mit einer Flasche Apfelwein aus der Region zur Begrüßung, Kaffee, Eiern von den Hühnern und einem Glas Wein. Auch unseren Hunden hat es gefallen, ein komplett umzäunter Garten, in dem sie sich aufhalten konnten. Die Domäne liegt 1 km vom Strand entfernt, wo eine Strandbar und ein Hotel/Bar/Restaurant den inneren Menschen stärken können. Sehenswürdigkeiten aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg können besichtigt werden und liegen nur wenige Kilometer von der Unterkunft entfernt. Sie können auch einen Strandspaziergang unternehmen. Die Residenz ist mit allen Annehmlichkeiten, privatem Parkplatz, absoluter Privatsphäre und einer sehr schönen Umgebung ausgestattet. Wir wollten die Normandie und alles, was es über W.W. zu sehen gibt, kennenlernen. II. Nun, das hat funktioniert. Alles ist sehr gut erreichbar, die Straßen sind in Ordnung, die Franzosen fahren hier ordentlich, alles ist sehr gut ausgeschildert. Een heerlijke plek om te ontspannen én volop bezig te kunnen zijn. Quineville is klein en heeft heel weinig te bieden. En toch ook weer niet. Het is het kalme Franse dagelijks bestaan waar je je lekker in kan onderdompelen. De markt is een must. Het hele dorp loopt daar te genieten van lekkere dingen en snuffelt tussen de oude en nieuwe spulletjes. Het heeft een onvoorstelbaar strand wat bij eb 200 meter breed is. Quineville is perfect gelegen als uitvalsbasis naar Cherbourg, Saint Vaast-La Hougue, Montebourg en Valognes. Het begin van de invasie stranden en alles wat dat aan historische hoogtepunten met zich mee brengt ligt iets verder, maar het gezellige Sainte Mere Eglise is ca. 30 minuten rijden. Check wel even goed of de navigatie niet wat te optimistisch is. Je kan zomaar weggetjes op gestuurd worden welke eigenlijk alleen voor jeeps, tanks en tractoren geschikt zijn. Het verblijf is ontzettend goed bevallen. Aan werkelijk alles is gedacht en de gezellige en lieve eigenaren zijn voor alles aanspreekbaar. Dat geldt ook voor hun hond waar we de nodige speeltijd mee hebben doorgebracht. Het appartement biedt alles, is super schoon en biedt alle privacy.
