The Space: ACCOMMODATION DETAILS: Set high above the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Remarkables Retreat 10 is a comfortable and well-located holiday home offering lovely lake and mountain views. Practical, welcoming, and easy to enjoy, it’s an ideal lock-up-and-leave base for exploring Queenstown without the fuss. The home features a newly completed balcony (December 2025), perfect for soaking up the views and fresh alpine air. Set over three levels, the home makes excellent use of its elevated position to capture the surrounding scenery. You enter the property on the main (upper) level, where you’ll find the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. This is the heart of the home and is positioned to make the most of the outlook and natural light, with large windows framing the lake and mountain backdrop. Step out onto the balcony from the dining area to enjoy your morning coffee or a relaxed meal outdoors. Stairs lead down to the middle level, which is home to two bedrooms, the family bathroom(s), and the laundry — a practical and well-laid-out sleeping zone for families or groups. Continue down to the lower level, where you’ll find the third bedroom and the internal-access garage. This level also provides convenient space for luggage, bikes, or ski gear, and includes parking for one small to medium vehicle, with an additional outdoor park nearby. After a day exploring Queenstown, skiing, or walking the nearby trails, unwind back upstairs in the comfortable living area and enjoy the ever-changing lake and mountain views. It was nice to have a place to lounge, a decent kitchen, washer & electric dryer, and a balcony with a beautiful view of the lake. As others have noted, figuring out the first time around how to turn in, and how to park is challenging. The garage is definitely for a small sedan car. But the space just outside the garage handled our minivan well, and it was good to be able to park 2 cars. The space worked well for driving further into Queenstown City Center for tourist activities, and access to the airport for flights, etc. There is a bus stop right above the unit on the Frankton Road, but we never used it. I took full advantage of the jacuzi in the master bathroom as I had a pulled muscle. That was a definite plus as well. Everything worked and space was well laid out for privacy as well as gathering. It is a 3-story dwelling, so anyone using the space needs to be capable of climbing stairs. We had good & responsive communication with the manager, from beginning to end which was helpful. Nice clean rooms. Electric blanket in bottom room single bed didn’t work. Garage and front entry dirty with leaves. Rubbish disposal wasn’t easy considering we stayed for 9days. Handyman came to do some work and left the dryer there the whole stay.. Friends stayed up the road and had a lot more interaction with their property manager,eg he checked in on them numerous times to make sure everything was up to par. Wine and chocolates on arrival. Split over 3 levels, it had plenty of room for our family of 5\. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped for cooking at home, and while the house is located half way between Queenstown and Frankton., it was easy enough to get the bus, walk (1hr), Uber (NZ25) or drive into/out of Queenstown. The place has amazing views and we really enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. ##### Rechelle P. The location of the property was perfect - nearly halfway between the better shopping of Frankton and the tourist centre of Queenstown. A BBQ would have made this even better. And a little weird that the master bedroom didn’t have the king size bed. Also we found some broken glass in the dishes. But overall I would recommend this place to stay with a gorgeous view of the lake and the Remarkables. ##### Leah M. Awesome views, handy location, nice spacious house, with enough comfortable seating for everyone (something I've found is not always the case). They had everything you needed and made the whole experience really easy, so a big thank you to everyone involved. The only thing I would point out to people is the steep drive to where you have to park - not for the faint hearted, but then it is Queenstown! We didn't want to leave :) ##### Nikki S.
