Karen and Steve have done such an incredible job of providing such a comfortable and friendly stay. The room was just perfect, from the furnishings to the little extras like the bottle of Port in each room. A lot of thought has been put in to the decor and everywhere you look you will find something that catches your eye. They also offered to drive us to and pick us up from dinner in Queenstown so we didn't have to worry about having a drink with dinner. The breakfast offered was lovely, homemade bircher muesli and a full hot breakfast, homemade bread and jams, everything you could want to start your day. Everything was extremely cosy and there is a clear amount of enthusiasm for the history of the house as shown in the many finishing touches of photographs, books, and artifacts of the time. They embrace and enhance their community by providing local conserves, wines, and ingredients, and have an excellent partnership with nearby businesses. Staying at the house is to experience the elegance of the era, to be surrounded by magnificent furniture, paintings and portraits, and to share in the history of this important mine. The sitting room very comfortable and the kitchen area adequately equipped. A silver service full English breakfast tops off the stay.
