Basic but better value that campus rooms in Dublin

Posted 29-Aug-2017
Pros: Campus was quite nice, although building works ongoing while I was there. On reflection, was a much better deal that Trinity College Dublin.
Cons: Breakfast. Perhaps some in-room facilities (tea/coffee, tv, etc.)
Location: 20+min walk to city centre. Bus stops nearby, but not available late at night
Reasonable value. Accommodation - functional at best. Nice campus. Quiet and clean. Breakfast was included, but a bit basic. All-in-all 'adequate' and reasonable value for money.

Good student accommodation for single travellers

Posted 20-Aug-2017
Pros: A very good price for this accommodation in Belfast. Breakfast was included, was substantial and available from 07:00 each day.
Cons: Soundproofing could be better - there was noise from doors being closed and from the common room.
Location: Establishment located 3km from centre - no restaurants or pubs nearby. No bus service on Sundays.
Having stayed in student halls of residence in the 1970s I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodation offered. En suite rooms and with plenty of power sockets. There was also a common room with TV and a kitchen with fridge etc. The only drawback was the distance from the centre of Belfast - 3km. The bus service was OK, every 20 minutes during the daytime, but there was no service on a Sunday (at least not in the summer timetable).

More like an escape room than a hotel

Posted 17-Aug-2017
Pros: breakfast, friendly staff, Wi-Fi
Cons: more user-friendly doors
Location: Located a little bit off center, but within 5-10 minute walk of a NIR station, 20 min from city center, and 40 min walk to the Titanic museum.
The hotel is actually the student dorm, which seems to be rented while the students are on vacation, at least that's my guess. Maybe that is why it's so hard to get around - you need to prove you're smart enough to be a student? First I had to find it, which wasn't trivial, since it looks nothing like a hotel and isn't even a single building. If you do find the desk, they give you a map and a magnetic key. Your task is to find your building, open multiple doors, each of which opens in a unique way. Even finding light switches is a challenge. Now try doing all that in the dark, with luggage, after a long flight... Otherwise, it's actually nice. Comfortable room, designed as a long term living space for one person, pretty clean, and the free breakfast is versatile and nourishing (if you can find the dining room). Had to wait about ten minutes at check in, because the guy was away, but the checkout took just seconds. In short, a very good value for the money, if you don't mind to be challenged and like quest rooms.

Good location, cheap, bed uncomfortable

Posted 23-Jul-2017
Very impressed with the staff at check in, the cleanliness, and the privacy. The breakfast was fine although the refectory area was a bit untidy. The bedding was really uncomfortable in the room, and the motion sensor bathroom light went off too quickly when you were in there but seemed to go on a lot when I turned over in bed!

Quite cold and heating radiators aren't turned on in summer. They do give extra blankets if required.

Nice place and wonderful service from the staff.

Posted 1-Sep-2016
Pros: The security of the property is very good.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: It's a nice place with good bus service to Belfast City.
I arrived at Elms Village after midnight. Paul at the front desk was very helpful. I hope he see this post and know that I appreciated his act of kindness.

Basic clean accommodation in quiet desirable area.

Posted 30-Aug-2016
There was one major problem - there was no record of my booking even though I had a reference confirming the booking. They informed me they were full and I spent an anxious half hour late at night wondering if I had a room. Staff were very helpful and manged to fit me in but this would put me off Expedia .
