From the staff at reception to staff in and around the breakfast area and housekeeping each person was warm welcoming and helpful. How lovely to be treated to fresh water, a chocolate or macaroon, plenty of clean towels, a cosy robe and slippers, a comfy bed and hot shower after a long day of walking and sightseeing. The common areas were perfect to sit and enjoy the fire, read or relax and chat. Complimentary coffees, water and fruit always available. The most comfortable and friendly hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

We liked the historic nature of the building and the interior design as well as the lobby with all it's many seating areas and the beautiful and real wood burning fireplace. It was a great place to hang out. The room itself was also very spacious including our bathroom.

I like hotel staff the most. They are very friendly and helpful. They helped us making all reservations during our stay. Hotel decor is beautiful and elegant . Beds are clean and towels are white as new. They offered us the roller bed without charge as twins room are not available . We were happy to spend Christmas vacation at Le Germain Quebec.

Reception staff upon arrival were not particularly welcoming or well informed - maybe holiday fill-ins because next day staff very fine. Housekeeping staff invasive, entering twice a day until,I figured out there was a button signal to request privacy. Nightly treats and Xmas special features appreciated…the fireplace was marvelous, esp with letters to Santa from children of staff members and the half consumed milk and cookies Christmas morning!

The staff were superb - so friendly and helpful with suggestions. And for anyone driving there off the trans-can highway, taking the road along the river and by-passing all the downtown traffic is a dream.

Away from the throngs around Frontenac but still a beautiful walk to the Chateau, Petit Champlain, Place Royale and others. A super cozy lobby with a nice fire and good live music on weekend. Go for the Prestige room but all are great

Best hotel in Quebec
We loved the room. The terry cloth bathrobes were so cozy. It was so close to excellent restaurants and the wonderful bakery. We really enjoyed our stay, especially a chocolate a night.

Bel hotel bien situé
Bel hotel mais chambres un peu sombre dans un vieil immeuble. très bonne localisation. Bon sejour mais il y a mieux pour moins cher dans les environs. Beaucoup de petites attention et personnel très gentil. Un peu de mise a jour de l'ameublement serait requis.

Always enjoy staying here, although this time the elevator was not working but thankfully we were only on the 2nd floor. The ventilation system is the bathroom / room is a little noisy like a low fan sound and could not be turned off. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel and wonderful staff. Very close to the 22 cruise port dock. We walked over with our luggage. .02 miles when you walk out the door of the cruise terminal.

Great place
The hotel staff is very nice, polite and accommodating. I just wish they had a bar or restaurant section and didnt serve breakfast in the lobby. Just a personnal preference. And I find their basement a bit scary. Wish they had a pool. Also, i feel like the hotel needs to freshen up their look with lighter colors and all. The rooms are VERY dark. Would still come back

Parking is valet, but reasonable and right out the back of hotel and that is great. Wish they had ala carte breakfast and bona fide bar. Front desk staff acts as bartenders. Staff is very friendly and gym is good. Rooms are very dark and everything is black so hard to see in and find stuff sometimes. The location is fabulous.

Awesome Hotel in the Heart of Quebec
Hotel Le Germain is a lovely hotel in the heart of lower Quebec City. It is centrally located, so it is very walkable to see many sites. It is easy to get to Upper City of Quebec with funiculars to take up. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and lush. We were so impressed and so were our friends. The view was beautiful and we highly recommend this hotel. If we come back, we will stay here!
