It is comfortable, welcoming, clean, very well equipped and close to all services. It is located ten minutes from the Île d'Orléans bridge in the village of St-Laurent, directly on the shore of the river with a breathtaking view of its waters and seaway. The accommodation A 4 season guest house with free parking and all the necessary amenities for a wonderful stay: \-Fast 135 Mbps wifi, your entire group can participate in video calls and watch streaming video. \-The space is decorated in a relaxing spirit. A relaxation area accessible all year round on the bank of the river with a breathtaking view where you can enjoy a three-seater swing under the trees, a round picnic table with benches for aperitifs or meals. With the possibility of making fires under the stars. From May to October, you will have access to a small outdoor fireplace for small campfires. A swimming beach and the municipal wharf are located less than a minute's walk away. Whatever the season, the landscape of this waterway will enchant you. Île d'Orléans : In Spring, summer, fall: a 67 km circuit with six villages and their stories, local produce, pick-your-own berries in season, artisanal bakeries, sugar shacks, chocolate factories, cider mills, jam factories, cheese factories, blackcurrant wine producers, microbreweries, orchards and vineyards, boutique and artisan workshop... you'll be spoilt for choice. But also bike rides, tennis and golf, heated pool, sea kayaking, zodiac excursions, museums, antiques, art galleries, summer theater and bistro restaurants. There is a suite upstairs - I almost regretted not having our children with us because it would have been so lovely to have a place to get away from them. The upstairs suite even has its own terrace with comfortable seating for watching the river. There are picnic tables, chairs, benches and even a swing outside. It rained one day and it was just as cozy and comfortable inside. It's very attractively furnished - no clutter, the beds are very comfortable. I can't think of one negative thing about it. We had a little problem opening the key box - completely due to our ineptitude - and Cecile and Andrei were very responsive and helpful. They gave us great lists of restaurants and things to do. My husband and I took his parents (in their late eighties) on a 10-day trip to Quebec, and our stay in this home was a highlight. My husband was able to prepare delicious gourmet family meals in the FULLY stocked kitchen every night, which is something he loves to do. The location was really convenient to the waterfalls and cathedrals we visited, and the view from the great room was peaceful and relaxing. Celine and Andrei were very friendly and supportive hosts, and provided lots of recommendations for local activities. We were very pleased. Celine and Andrei are excellent hosts. The island is delightful with many farm stands and artisans. A chocolate shop on the island is a must-visit as well as any of the fresh bakeries for croissants. Enjoy taking the long way around to enjoy the views. Just across the bridge and only 15 minutes or so are the Montmorency Falls and then Old Town Quebec a little further on. There is a school playground right next door, so expect playground sounds between 8am and 5pm. We were not disappointed. The house is large and comfortable with a really excellent location. St Laurent is a short drive from the bridge off the island and the house has super views out over the St Lawrence. My family and I visited Quebec City and the surrounding area for the first time in summer 2022\. Our hosts at la Maison du Fleuve aux Grandes Eaux were absolutely wonderful - responsive at all times, easy to communicate with, and always eager to provide us with suggestions of what to do, where to eat, and local shops to visit. Their guest home is impeccably clean and decorated tastefully, and has all of the little touches that are so appreciated: plenty of towels, linens, kitchen needs, comfortable beds, and lots of space for moving around. You get to enjoy not one, but two porches that look upon their beautifully landscaped yard and the river. The lovely village, and indeed the whole island, will take hold of you and not let you go. We will be forever grateful for the hospitality and care we received during our relaxing week. We highly recommend this property.
