We love our stay at Paradisus Palma Real. The resort is right on the beach, very beautiful and clean. The staffs are friendly. Foods are good, lobsters served at the buffet but they were hiding, we have to ask the chef in order to get lobster . Japanese restaurant needs to improve. There is different shows every night, we love it. We definitely will come back

First night we tried the Italian restaurant. Was able to switch the reservation one hour earlier. The supervisor, Milton, was great in helping me pair the food with wine. Bernavel, our waiter, was knowledgeable about the menu and suggested different options for replaced items.

The property was absolutely beautiful. The swim up suite was amazing and we loved the pool bars and beach cabanas! I really enjoyed the staff. They were so friendly and accomodating. In particular, our concierge Basilio, Marabel from housekeeping, Yelson our poolside server, Norjandro from Sante were all excellent and added to the positive experience. I loved the spa experience and Denaly was absolutely amazing, best massage I have ever had.

The staff was phenomenal special thanks to Edward n wladimir. But what I can truly say is, it was the best food I’ve seen at a buffet in all of my stairs, a lot of questions around the world.

We were a party of 17 spread across 7 rooms. While the property location and aesthetic is great, the challenges are: 1) They do not have hotel shuttle from the airport so you have to haggle for taxi fairs as soon as you get off after a long journey. 2) Please expect a sub par experience if you have not booked directly with them. Thats also a great marketing strategy to get you in thousands of dollars worth of membership. Might suggest you to finance that. 3) While the restaurants have great 5 star aesthetics, food is not of the greatest quality. It is much worse if you are big group size as they will not give you the option of a la carte for "maximum efficiency". Even though this entire group had to individually pay for their room and not under one group discounted deal. 4) they did try to make up for their ineffeciencies after repeated complaining by bringing the menu of one of their Italian theme restaurant but serving in the general buffet place which is outdoor and now my kids who are allergic to mosquitoes are left with huge swellings on their body. 5) Finally, please expect a very sub par drink quality with very limited option. For example, if you are a beer drinker, you wont even get a corona and similar for any alcohol of choice. Again a great marketing strategy to get you in for the expensive membership. While I look forward to visit Punta Cana again, I am not keen to re book to this property or any other hotels under the Melia group. Discl# These are my personal op

The view and property were beautiful and they about where the good part of this review ends. The restaurant reservation system was poor. The staff was not friendly and not helpful in providing advice. The Buffett offerings were ok not 4 star resort quality. Once you did get a reservation at one of the restaurants, you had to wait even though most of the tables were empty. Then once in the reserved restaurant you waited even longer for food. While at least 10 waiters and cooks stood around. It was something out of the ordinary. I’ve never experienced this level of inconsistency from a resort. From arrival at a reservation to leaving took at least 2 hours. Most of that time consists of waiting. Buffet was also a hassle because you had to track down a waiter to get drinks, coffee, water etc. Most tables were not cleaned in a timely fashion and sat with food on them for birds to feed on. Next: trying to sell you in the circle “timeshare.” Our concierge Lisette’s sole purpose was to try to get us to take this circle club timeshare meeting. Not to assist with reservations, excursions, hotel amenities offered. Do not get sucked into this garbage. The resort has exclusive sections where you can’t sit and swim. So that’s the circle club membership. It was completely off putting. The final complaint I have is regarding rooms service picking up the plates of food from the room after asking and requesting in the app. No one shows up so we had dishes piled on the counter.

The property itself is beautiful. The pools the beach its all beautiful. The food and service how ever not that great. Food was actually not good, besides breakfast. The restaurants on the resort took forever to seat you and serve you. The second night there we had reservations at the steak house for 9pm. We were seated till 10pm and food wasnt served till 10:45pm and my wife is 7 months pregnant. Most of the staff took there sweet time to do anything. We called the front desk 3 times and went to the front desk another 2 times asking for a bottle opener. Each time they told us some one will bring it to your room in a few minutes. They never came. I tried reaching the our concierge through expedia and emails, they never responded back. We had to leave the resort property 3 times to get a proper diner. That equalled another $400 expense between round trip taxis and food. Also one day at the resort buffet i was eating sliced plum and peaches till i noticed mold on the fruit. Gross. Paradisus might look great but everything else is subpar. We will definitely not be going back. Save your money and go any other resort. Definitely not a 5star resort as expedia claims.

I will be short: The Hotel was beautiful!!! The Food was very bad in the first 3 days of our stay because the hotel was hosting a large construction convention from Canada and we saw no to bad service and food! By the time the convention was over and everyone left , we started seeing very good food in the self service restaurant. The steak restaurant was a JOKE unless you paid for the $95 Tomahawk. My husband paid $50 for ribeye (I know it was supposed to be all inclusive) and his ribeye was thin and elastic and half of steak was fat. I ordered a NY steak (that’s how they call it on menu) and I sent it back twice. One because they brought it out rare (I asked for med-well) and the other reason was that I could really play tennis with it as a racket. The steak was so stiff! The muscles in the Italian restaurant were old (I am from Boston) I think I can recognize fresh muscles. The SERVICE was so hit or miss! The first 3 days we got none but after that it ALL depended WHO you got! Some were plainly rude , argumentative and or just dismissive! Some got gave you lip service as if they are helping you. There were some that genuinely were service oriented and those were the ones I Tipped! Yes I tip. Most people come to these resorts and don’t. I see it all the time. We did end up getting re invited to the steak house for a free tomahawk because after sending back my steaks twice , I also asked for the manager.This place needs upper mgmt change or better training.

Dining options were really sub standard. We couldn’t get a reservation at the restaurants 4 out of the 7 nights we stayed there. At one of the restaurants we ate at, the servers were very rude. Our children’s meals were brought to our table and after about 15 minutes we still hadn’t received our meals. When I asked a server for our meals, he was quite rude and told me that ladies come first. He left and came back saying it would be 5-10 minutes before my wife(also a lady) and my meal would be ready Another night they closed the main buffet and a restaurant because there was a large conference that had come to the resort. We had to go to a very small secondary place for our dinner which had very limited options. We were quite disappointed as we had discussed what we would have that night together from the main buffet, but these items weren’t available at the secondary location. We were supposed to have concierge service as we purchased the Nikte suite, but that didn’t happen until the 2nd last day and they couldn’t get us dinner reservations for our last 2 nights after we met him. Most of the servers we interacted with acted annoyed whenever we asked for coffee The conference that was at the resort took over the pool one day for a pool party. This is where we were with our 3 and 6 year old. Loud speakers for music were brought in and people were making speeches. This was the main pool Overall, I would have to say it was a disappointing experience.

The property itself is stunning - absolutely gorgeous. The food…as is the case with most resorts is above average and hit or miss. What’s lacking mainly from this resort, though, are entertainment options. Outside of things to do on the water, which honestly were only a few, there weren’t many other options.

This property is a mixed bag. Aesthetically, it is beautiful. Lots of areas to relax in, pools are clean, and some staff were very kind. The downside is a bad one - trying to find a restaurant to eat on property is akin to participating in the Hunger Games. We have 3 rooms, 7 people and every day we have been told that it is not possible for us to eat dinner together at any point of our 4 day trip. This is absolutely ridiculous. Upon arrival, only one of our party members were told that there is a whatsapp chat with the property in which we can make dinner reservations. We have attempted to reach out daily and without any proper response. Guests are expected to stand in a line by 9am to book dinner reservations. On our first day, we went to reception and guest services twice to do this and they told us they could do nothing to help us. Then, they told another member and myself that they WILL put us down for dinner reservations for day 2 and 3. Day 2 morning and we stood in the reservation like just to find out we have been lied to and there was no reservation made. They have split up 7 people in 3 different restaurants at three different times. They lied to us about the whatsapp, about the reservations, and on their website. They do not care to help you. They did not help us make a reservation at a restaurant off property. The two dinners we have had made us wait 2 hrs. Ensuring we have food should not be a concern for a trip we have paid around $1k per person for.

The hotel grounds are beautiful. The beach is safe and clean. They have a security guard at the beach. The room is spacious and comfortable. I like the bed, but the pillows were a bit too thick for me. A lot of people complain about the food. Here is my take on that. It is comparable to cruise ship dining. The buffet had lots of options some days better than others. The specialty restaurants were good, but not great. My favorite restaurant was Flora, the Caribbean restaurant the food was spectacular, we were never truly disappointed but I wasn’t there for the food either. Both of the staff do not speak English. The front desk and anyone that answer the phone did speak English, but that seemed to be it. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Property was generally very clean, up to date, and food was good. We were upset when we arrived because we had 3 rooms in our party and everyone was assigned to the wrong room. Then we had issues with making reservations, apparently everything was 'full' on our first night - when in fact when we went to walk around and none of the restaurants were full. Making reservations was extremely difficult and no one was around to easily help - we needed to escalate this because it almost seemed like this was yet another thing that started this vacation on the wrong foot. Lastly, per my Expedia VIP status I was not given any too upgrades and they did not offer my $100 spa credit per room.

The hotel was very tranquil. We would have liked to have more live entertainment, music or other attractive activities available. We would have enjoyed Caribbean music and entertainers/dancers. The food at the buffet was average at best. However, the two restaurants that we visited were very good (Flora & Mina). The service at these restaurants was very good. However, the buffet and snack bar had very spotty service. We weren’t served coffee until we finished having breakfast on Sunday morning. The few wines that were available at no extra charge were of very poor quality. They have an expensive wine list available if you prefer to have good wine. There seemed to be a design flaw with the plumbing of our room (we were on the first floor). We smelled a strong foul odor coming from the shower drainage. It filled the entire room and was rather uncomfortable.

The beach is stunning.!!! That’s it… it feels like you walk into a place where the only people looked at are the band colors that requires respect… all is seperated for the VIP the rest can get lost they don’t care they really do make you feel like low class if your color is standard and forget about getting service… The food is worse then the reviews… and most restaurants are closed or are too packed to let you eat there… Gorgeous hotel but so sad as you see everyone’s unhappiness and confusion around where your allowed to walk… or eat at. My Ac was broken twice… I asked them to fix it no one showed I ended up being up all night from the heat… and don’t get me started around check in…

Property is new, hotel is in great condition, pools are clean. But service was poor. Restaurants are booked, always reserve it ahead because in the property you wont find a place. Most of the restaurants are adults only. If you’re coming here with kids thjnk twice. Hotel is greag for adults. Food was so so. Italian restaurant was our favorite. Buffet is average. Serpice is poor.

Best hotel we visited so far. Our concierge Rosemary was phenomenal as well as the entire staff. Will definitely recommend to all our friends and family. My wife got sick and Rosemary took her own car and went to the closest pharmacy and got her medicine. Can’t say enough good things about this resort.
