Nice Hotel but not so nice food and service!
In a nutshell it is a beautiful hotel with a nice layout but not so nice when it comes to food and service.
It's kind of secluded and difficult to get around the area. We got sick and we found it far to go to the closest small town and very expensive if used the in house doctor.
As far as the food concerns, comparing to many other hotels we have been in Mexico and Central America, it was not good, especially in the main self service dining room. Even though there were a bunch of stuff on the buffet but the quality of the material used were low. For example during the two weeks stay we weren't able to get a beef dish even stake that was tender (even hard to cut it with knife, obviously using low grade meat) or the seafood was very smelly and all we ate was just some chicken and vegetables and fruit with a limited selection. The quality of the food was better if prior reservation was made on the other restaurants in the evening.
In general the service was not acceptable. It was hit and miss, sometimes you could find someone that genuinely was a good person and was nice too you but lots of attitude or carelessness from majority of the staff! and it wasn't just us, we heard it from other guests too!
The room was just Okay. Couldn't get much water coming from the shower head and found roaches a couple of times!
The hotel has lots of potentials but has a very "WEAK MANAGEMENT". Need a new management with better sense of customer service and care for quality!!!
