The hotel is beautiful. It’s very big. Prepare yourself to walk to experience it. There’s a variety of food to enjoy. You’ll enjoy your vacation if you choose this resort.

I its a very nice resort, worth the money.

After a very confused welcome, We ended up having a great get together vacation! We thank all the pleasant staff and management for taking care of our needs. Our particular thanks to Guest Service Manager Carlos Kingsley that went above and beyond to accommodate us. And make our stay a very enjoyable time. Our particular thanks also goes to the CSR Nathanael Araujo for been so dedicate to solve guest (reception ) problems! We were a group of 15 people and we all have tons of good things to say about the place. And at some point in the future we will be return, maybe with some extra people. In the name of the 15 I thank you all the Manager and staff for such a great time!

Cons: Management at front desk.
Hotel was over booked so they upgraded us for the night. They told us we could keep the upgraded bracelet for for the rest of our stay.They told us to go to the front desk at 11 am to be moved to a new room. Went to front desk and was told to come back at 4pm.At 3:30someone called room and asked how we liked our stay.We told him what happened and he said he would be right there. Waited until 5:00 and went to front desk.Still didn't have room . They gave me two numbers to called at 5:30. Kept calling and no one ever would ever answer. At 6:00 the man finely showed up and said he was going right back to office and take care of it. We never heard from him again.At 8:00 someone finely answered phone and tolled us someone on way to move us. At 8:30 we finely moved. We wasted a day and a half of our vacation. Then they told us the bracelet was no longer good.

2018 Bacation

Overall was not bad,however will recommend more culture activity. The music of RD, is part of the total experience. Will recommend in the lobby live music or DJ. From RD. This will keep guest happy. Duty free store at the airport had this concept, Merengue is culture an big part of total experience. Lobby are beautiful make the area the center point of the total experience.

It was a nice place. The resort is beautiful. The food was good and the staff was very helpful. We were there with my 2 kids and they loved it. We will go back again.

Poor service & facility management

During our stay, the tables closest to the beach in the restaurants were roped off, wait staff was extremely slow. Getting a golf cart was almost impossible, very slow. We went to this resort 3 years ago & were very happy. This time, the service had really gone downhill & overall condition of the resort needed to be updated. Our friends were members & their complaints were met with a free spa certificate, but the staff didn’t seem too concerned with us non-members.

Upgraded to The Level

My boyfriend and I initially booked a room in the Melia Caribe. The room we stood in on our first night was very clean and well kept. We decided to upgrade to The Level at the Melia the next day because of the distance between the pool, beach, and the hotel room. You will most likely need to take one of the “trains” they have on the resort to shuttle guests around to get to the beach each day. At the Level, the beach and pool were a quick 5 minute walk in comparison. That being said, you won’t be disappointed with your room at the Melia, but the Level packs a different level of luxury and convenience. The staff will greet you with a welcome drink and check you in comfortably in a less formal setting (no over the counter check in- sitting on couches with your drinks). The minute you walk into the Level lobby you can see the beach and pool area. It is breathtaking. For an all inclusive resort the food was delicious and fresh. I highly recommend taking advantage of the dinner on the beach option at the level. Buying a bottle of wine will get you dinner on the beach and a steakhouse meal. It was delicious and romantic. The Level has a private beach which we especially enjoyed- no overcrowding. We took advantage of paddle boarding while we were there as well. All in all, I cannot say a bad word about The Level. Staff was courteous, our room was always clean, and the food and drinks were great. If I had to make one critique it would be that night life could be better.

Fabulous spring break vacation! This is our third trip to The Melia Caribe in Punta Cana and we love the beautiful beach, clean hotel and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.

Food in the buffet was almost the same every day and not good like can fruits. A lot of flies in the dining area, poor service.

When we arrived we were not greeted by anything other than a long line for check in. There were several employees behind the counter but they all seemed overwhelmed. When we were finally able to get into our room we were surprised to see that our family of 4 was put in a room with 1 bed and our children would have been required to sleep on a filthy pull out couch and a roll away bed that left no room whatsoever to walk about the room. I was especially upset about this because while booking online I specifically asked for 2 beds. Outside our room the peacocks had decided to take up residence and woke us up at 3:30 on the first morning we were on vacation. That day I requested to be moved to another part of the resort. The pool area was nice as long as we weren't sitting across from the pool bar. The bartenders were asked repeatedly to turn down the music because it was so loud we couldn't hear each other. They would turn it down for 10 minutes and then it would go right back up. Food was mediocre at the buffets but the Japanese Steak house was fantastic and very entertaining. We spent most of our time at the pool because when we arrived the beach was so covered with seaweed and garbage that it was not enjoyable at all. Never saw employees walking around the pool area but we did see plenty of other people asking if we wanted to do parasailing. They did have a nice cookout on the beach area several days we were there that served hamburgers and hotdogs.
