Warning: Do Not Stay Here If You Value Cleanliness and Service Our stay at Meliá Caribe Beach Hotel in Punta Cana was a disappointment. As Expedia members, it was nice to see our names upon arrival, but problems started immediately. We were three families wanting adjacent rooms but were ignored and placed far apart, which was highly inconvenient. Our room was not what we booked: we requested a king bed with a child's bed but got two queen beds and a dirty couch with hair. Concerned for our children's health, we contacted the staff, who only pushed the beds together and cleaned the room. Our original room was unavailable. Transportation was a nightmare. The shuttle trains were always full, and the drivers ignored us. Our butler, Any Liriano de León, was the worst part with her unhelpful and rude attitude. We paid an additional $250 for a room upgrade, which also had issues: the lights were out, and the room was infested with mosquitoes due to the door being left open. The food was another major disappointment. At the buffet, the grilled chicken tasted like fish because it was cooked on the same grill. Our children barely ate anything because the food was unappetizing. We all ended up with a stomach bug, except the kids who only ate rice. Overall, while the hotel looks nice, the poor food, unhelpful staff, and unclean rooms made our stay unpleasant. I do not recommend this hotel unless you only care about aesthetics.

The one star is for the bad customer service. Guest services need to be trained how to treat guests. Our concierge, Anny Liriano was very rude. Her only concern was for us paying extra to be at the Level. At first she even threaten us that if we didn’t pay extra to be at The Level we will not be eating at a restaurant with our family traveling with us. This is not a way to treat guests. It is a shame, the hotel was very nice, kids had so much at the water park. But we will definitely not be coming back to this hotel. We’ve been to Punta Cana every year since 2012 and this is our first time we are so disappointed with the service. Also, half of our group got a stomach virus. It seems that the food isn’t stored properly. Food was tasty but unfortunately not good quality. We gave it a try despite the reviews but unfortunately they were right. Our suggestion to management: 1. Train employees to treat guest properly and with respect. 2. Improve quality of food

We had an amazing time. Staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and pretty. My kids loved the water park and had so much fun at the daycare. The pools were amazing, I loved the grounds and seeing the peacocks and other birds. My only complaint was the night entertainment ended early, and wish the restaurants had better options/food. Beach was also beautiful.

The service throughout the entire resort was very poor. Felt as if me and my family were invisible because we witnessed others in the proximity obtain better service for the simple things such as water, napkins,etc. We went to visit other family members who were also staying at the resort but were staying at the level. Within minutes of meeting up with our family at the level side of the beach staff approached us telling us we couldn’t stand there because we did not have white wrist bands. Our family felt singled out and treated unfairly because there were several families that did not have white wrist bands for the level and were never approached by the staff. We informed the staff of this situation and it took them about 30 minutes to react and kick everyone else out who did not belong. Me and my family have visited this resort more than once but this will be the last because of the poor service, unfairness and rude staff members.

Love this resort! Very clean with friendly staff! Nice accommodations & transport conviene to get around. Food is Just okay, can be some improvements with taste & flavor. The Welcoming and staff were excellent, the resort was absolutely beautiful and we truly had an amazing time. Our designated expedia attendant, Kilvania, was excellent we give her a 10 . Plus we had lots of fun with the hotel activities especially Joel. Overall Hotel & Service a 10. Now the food at the restaurants were not good at all, worse then a cruise. The buffets weren't as bad but I give the food overall maybe a 2. They should really offer better food at least at the A La Cart Restaurants, how wrong can you go with pasta and my sons ended up leaving to the buffet cause they could not eat the pasta at Russo and we ended up eating just the taste. It was really bad, but luckily the service was great.

We recently returned from our trip to Melia Caribe Beach Resort. We upgraded to "The Level" which I highly recommend. With the upgraded service at The Level, you have a private check in where you are greeted and seated in an air conditioned room with refreshments and snacks while you wait, which wasn't long at all. The Level guests are assigned a personal " Concierge" who takes care of anything you need while you are there. Our Concierge, Ericson Mejia, greeted us and showed us around "The Level" grounds and showed us to our rooms. He was Extremely helpful and always willing to help us with anything including booking the Spa for me & my daughter. Ericson also made dinner reservations for us on site and always relayed the information to us once it was confirmed! We also got a daily Good Morning Text from him asking if we needed anything! Thank you Ericson for making our family holiday even better!! There are a ton of Restaurants on the Hotel grounds...but The Riviera at "The Level" was by FAR the BEST out of all of them. Beware however.... you must be a Level Guest to eat there. I highly recommend upgrading to "The Level". The Restaurant Manager, Ramone and the servers-Manuel, Ramone, Lisa, to name a few were fantastic! They knew us and greeted us with big smiles and the service was 10/10! For dinner, you can order off the a la carte menu which was again...INCREDIBLE. You could also take in the buffet as well. We ate there 3 out of 6 nights and we were blown away each time.

Property was beautiful. Loved the scenery. My number one problem was the staff. I’ve never felt so hounded on a vacation. They’d make reservations for us without asking us what restaurant or what time, then would get mad if we didn’t go. If they couldn’t understand our English they’d get frustrated and walk away. I asked for maintenance 3 times because of a broken door lock on the first floor and no one came when they said they’d send someone. The food was absolutely horrible. What they don’t tell you is that major alcohol brands are not included, as well. There’s an all inclusive adults only separate from the regular all inclusive and I was told we had access to both, turns out every time we were on the adults only section they’d turn us away. Then there’s the level- couldn’t even explain that to anyone. This resort was so confusing. I would’ve thought all inclusive was all inclusive but there’s different tiers. They also let in all the excursion people and there’s always people bugging you to buy things. Staff are allowed to sell art in the resort and constantly hound. Also never felt so starred at in my life by staff members and they don’t even try to hide it, made me super uncomfortable to even accept transportation offers or help within the property due to constant sales pitches and being starred at or cat balled. Overall would pick another place.

We had a wonderful concierge named Anny Liriano who made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. She was very kind and helpful. We were given a room closer to the beach free of charge at check-in. This resort honored many Expedia perks such as free room service and discounts on spa services. It truly is all inclusive- and the portions are very generous! We had a great time and felt very welcome and comfortable during our stay.

Stayed at The Level. The staff is super friendly, my daughter was al over the place and they would talk and play with her(she loved it). The food at Riviera restaurant was the BEST, I ate all day there and the staff and host were amazing ( treicy, Diana A and Jesuary G) I felt like I had known them my whole life with the way that they treated us, will ho back 100 times just for them. The food at the restaurants that you need reservations are really good too, Cape Nao soooo Fk good. The room was clean and the lady made sure to clean it every day, the restaurants, the pool, the beach, everything. Sara at reception was amazing. The only thing that I did not like is that they do not have like a disco or something, they had activities at the lobby but is not the same.

We went for our wedding anniversary to DR and stayed at Melia Caribe Beach Resort. Well, I must say that the grounds are very well manicured! I hope the landscape designer won an award, because it’s absolutely magical and breathtakingly beautiful! With gorgeous peacocks wondering around. The pool is huge, clean and beautiful! Loved every single crew member, especially Yanil Felix that was at the pool area every day asking if we needed a drink or anything else and Daniella David at the restaurant, who managed to bring out a whole cake to us with several other waiters singing in honor for our anniversary! Rooms however, need improvement (our shower wall was broken and toilet we needed to fix every time we flushed). Also, we had our own Consierge Anny Liriano who exchanged her WhatsApp number and attended to all of our needs and was professional and helpful. Anny also surprised us with champagne and cake in our room for our anniversary. The food we loved at three restaurants that are there - Hacienda (Mexican), Rossi (Italian) and Touro (Steak House)however, be prepared to pay for your steak because it’s not included. Buffett however, was not that good, due to very stale bread and many things were from day before dry and soggy.

When I got back I got Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease and Impetigo. They probably don't clean the pool. Half the workers look miserable there. The food is honestly so disappointing. Especially the Mexican Restaurant. I could've got a better Quesadilla at Chipotle. I would stay away from this resort and just spend the extra money to go to Hard Rock or something better.

The staff are very friendly, concierge Kilvania checked in every day to make sure our needs were met. Would have liked to have all restaurants to be included for all clients as description on Expedia mentions 10 restaurants when in reality it is only 5 included and another to pay. This resort is absolutely stunning. The rooms were clean and beds super comfortable. Traveled with our 2 boys; 2 and 4. They had a blast! The water park is a plus it has baby toddler area, small children, and then older teenagers and and adults. The beach was pretty just lots of seaweed this time of the year. The beach snack bar was awesome. There is a train to take you around the resort which was such a plus; they constantly wanted to ride it! food was great as well. Nothing bad to say about our experience. Also, booking through Expedia we got our personal concierge Kilvania, super nice and checked in constantly with us. She also handled all the restaurant reservations and we got complimentary room service, there's a $10 fee if you dont book through Expedia for room service orders. all around 5*

Big property, although is a bit dated it is well maintained. The beach was amazing although the weather was gloomy and rainy (early May). It has golf carts and a train that runs pretty often to move from the pool and villas to the lobby. The buffet could have been better, the food selections were repetitive and limited. The specialty restaurant were not that great, service was a lottery, sometimes you got someone nice and cheerful (not often) and others a flat face supper cranky servers. I am used to all- inclusive especially in Mexico and really expected more, especially from a Melia. There was little to none seafood served at any time.... sucks being on a beach property. Shrimps or seafood (other than salmon) were never part of any food in the buffet, they only offered clams a couple if times. Bars were Ok, the drinks were not bad.

Family of 4, room 2503 What I really liked about this place was how clean and nice it is. Room- 5/5 our room was nice and clean, the house keeper was amazing (wish I could remember her name she was nice) Room service food- 4/5-the food was good also but the hash browns were horrible and so were the drinks(really watery ) Buffet Food- 4/5 I love how they keep real Dominican foods (Elizabeth service at the main buffet was excellent) Restaurant food- 5/5 we had reservations at the Mexican restaurant La hacienda, small portions but good tacos. Our waitress was the best (hope you can track it down) Transportation-5/5 Jasiel was really helpful and always willing to bring us to our destination. One of the most helpful thing was that I had Kilvania Valerio to help me with any inconvenience that I may have experienced during my stay. For example we lost our keycard she was able to direct us to what we needed to do. Another example is how she arranged for a crib to come in the room and also for thick blankets, she also assisted me with sending someone to fix our Tv. Aside from her daily good morning check in messages and how fast she was able to take care of business. Overall I would say that the only thing that needs improvement are the alcohol drinks (too watery) same deal with the juices. *we did received two Barceló drinks as a welcome gift I love how I wasn’t pressure into a 2 hour tour to become a member.

At Check in we waited 1 hour 30minutes after 3pm for our Suite to be ready at The Level. When we entered the suite is was bigger than we expected. We were pleasantly surprised at the size. The two bedroom grand suite in The Level. It’s worth upgrading to the Level because you have access to the Riviera restaurant buffet which my family preferred over the other restaurants that were included. We always ended up going to the Riviera buffet. They served delicious food and desserts for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ramon the riviera manager took good care of us and made us our favorite chinola drinks. He made our dining experience more enjoyable. Nathanael our private Concierge made things happen and much easier. The resort and surrounding facilities are well maintained clean and safe with easy access to other areas of the resort by the staff driving you in the golf carts throughout the property. The nightly shows were entertaining and my family enjoyed them that were geared towards families. I will definitely consider staying at Melia beach resort for my next trip.
