We know what you are thinking - is this a review I can trust? It’s got a lot of negative sentiment, examples, and blunt feedback, but so many positive reviews of this resort are on many sites, how could it have been so bad?? TLDR - This will not be a good review. And I won’t start it off with PROS to make you feel good before diving into all the CONS, as I think that would be a bit misleading. It was overwhelmingly bad (we all got very very sick), so please take a journey with me below to read why. CONS: Dining Options Cleanliness Food Options - little vegetarian, no vegan Drinks - could be 1000x better PROS: Beach is nice Pool area is nice - if it were cleaned properly The buffets were, and I'm going out on a limb here, not clean. The smell when you walk in is, especially right when they opened, was not of cleaning products or the aroma of 50 tables having been scrubbed and cleaned before we walked in. There was a sweet/sour/stale aroma, mixed in with what was probably some type of coconut scent to make you feel like you were in a nicer tropical buffet setting. The smell was nauseating to say the least and did not make you want to eat any of the food. I wish there was more space allowed for this review - we all got very sick, with one of us going to the hospital for close to 24 hrs. Net-net, we had a horrible trip and yes some was bc we got sick, but the cleanliness, or lack thereof, at the resort is a huge issue.

Looked nice but something was very wrong. So many people were getting sick with diarrhea and vomiting. We ended up in hospital and left 5 days into our 7 day trip just to escape.

The property was very pretty. The buffets had wide choices. I did not think any of the restaurants had top quality food and some of them they sat you down and barely came back to see if you needed anything. Lobby bar staff was the best. Our room was kept clean and our maid was awesome. The only complaint I had about the room is there is one towel hook. Need more area to hang things to dry. Front desk was very helpful, when we needed them.

Nice beach and surf. Rooms and restaurants were in-line with expectations. The facility was short-staffed which affected service levels. Many people including our family were sick with a gastric-intestinal virus which apparently had affected the entire area.

The resort has many dining options which was nice. Our condo was close to the beach and pool which was convenient. Numerous times I awoke early to save chairs in the shade only to have someone move my belongings and take them. More shade options would be nice. The entertainment was decent. Favorite restaurants were the Brazilian and Japanese. We had the pizza for lunch often. Unfortunately we were there when a GI bug went through the resort. All 8 of us in our party were ill. The beach is beautiful, ocean warm and overall it was a great vacation.

Some of the waitresses in the restuarant were not friendly and gave the angry look if you asked for sth! There’s a stand near the pool area to sell the activites outside the hotel! Don’t buy anything from them. They don’t tell the truth. We got the package for buggy ride and the cave and instead ended up in a small fake cave/ pool which spoiled 1 day of our stay and when we asked for the refund they gave us less than half the price!

We traveled for Spring break our family of 5 (kids 14, 12, 7). We had a fantastic vacation. The resort was beautiful. The concierge (shout out to Hueberto) and staff very attentive. And overall service very good. Rooms were clean and maintained. The resort planned activities everyday for kids and adults. Kids really enjoyed the water park which was a short walk or shuttle from the main lobby. The buffets were very good and featured food from around the globe; we liked them better than the cusine specific restaurants. There are individuals at the resort that provide all of the info and cost for the off resort activities so that was one less thing to worry about beforehand. Bring a drink cup if you don't want to keep going up to the bar. Flotation devices are allowed in the pool (it is 7' in a lot of places). And there's an exit form you need to have filled out before you exit customs when departing (wifi is slow at airport so do it before you get to the airport if possible). I recommend this resort!
