My boyfriend and I went to Bahia Principe for my 25th birthday. While the resort was beautiful and the beach was by far the best part of our stay, we weren't impressed with the food selections. We went to the buffets however their selections were bland and repetitive. The best were the a la carte restaurants, if you get a chance visit the Italian restaurant and Steak Houses! Halfway on our trip we upgraded to the Esmeralda, there were issues with our room upgrade, staff has difficulty with clear communication. My boyfriend and I speak Spanish thus language was not an issue here. The staff at the Esmeralda did their best to accommodate in giving us the room they promised we would have when we paid for the upgrade, thank you very much honestly :) The most dreadful part in this trip were vendors at the beach! Noone wants to deal with men selling you things. Hope things improve, keeping in mind that individuals are there to relax and if we want to purchase an item or an excursion we will approach you!
