This remodeled, ranch-style cottage on Lower Scott Lake is the perfect retreat for a peaceful and memorable getaway. Nestled in tranquil Lee Township, Michigan, this seasonal lakefront escape (open May 1–October 31) offers stunning views, cozy charm, and modern comfort. With 2 king bedrooms and 1 queen bedroom (with an ensuite bathroom), the open-concept layout seamlessly connects the kitchen, dining, and living areas, all bathed in natural light from large picture windows. Gather for classic movies on the 50” HD TV, enjoy board games or crafts around the spacious dining table, or relax in the sunny lounge and reading nook with breathtaking lake views. Step outside to the lake-facing front deck, where you can sip your morning coffee or fire up the gas grill for a sunset dinner. Located just 2.5 hours from Chicago, 55 minutes from metro Grand Rapids, and 3 hours from Detroit, Morningside Vista is the ideal spot for a serene lakeside escape with family and friends. Amtrak's Pere Marquette line runs daily between Chicago, IL and Grand Rapids, MI through both Bangor, MI (15 miles south) and Holland, MI (25 miles north). Please note: We don’t offer electric vehicle (EV) charging on-site. Attempting to charge an EV here damages our electrical system, and any violations will incur a $400.00 fee plus any repair costs. Thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly! Other Things to Note: We’re excited to welcome 1 fully-grown small or medium-sized dog per stay! We’d love to accommodate all pets, we’re unable to host cats or other animals. A non-refundable dog fee of $50 applies and guests cover any damages if needed. To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone: 1\. Your dog must not be left unattended unless safely crated. 2\. Please keep barking to a minimum so everyone can enjoy a peaceful environment. 3\. Help us protect the furniture by keeping your dog off uncovered surfaces. We’ve provided blankets and towels to make things dog-friendly. 4\. Clean up after your dog and dispose of waste in the provided scooper and disposal can. 5\. Only one fully house-trained dog is allowed (puppy pad training isn’t permitted). 6\. Please keep your dog leashed when outside, our yard is unfenced, and follow leash laws in all local communities. 7\. Do your best to clean up dog hair and other messes before you leave. 8\. For health and safety, we kindly ask that dogs aren’t bathed inside. We’ve got an outdoor hose and towels for rinsing off your pup after an adventure. Thank you for helping us keep our home pet-friendly and welcoming for everyone! Wi-Fi internet is provided by AT&T, but they only offer limited speeds best suited to web browsing & checking email. More than a few connected devices at a time will cause lag. We provide satellite TV & DVD players for all our homes since video streaming is not an option. Please note that quiet hours in Lee Township are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am and are strictly enforced. You are still welcome to use the outdoor areas during these times, but please be considerate of noise levels. Kindly refrain from sticking anything to our walls or using tinsel, glitter, confetti, feathers, etc. during your stay. \- No EV charging, smoking, fireworks, vaping, marijuana use, or pets/animals. \- Our docks, kayaks, gas grills & outdoor dining furniture are not available Oct 25-Apr 15\. \- This home is closed annually between Nov 1 and April 30. The view out the back deck is gorgeous. The weather was wonderful. We had 5 of us there. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and implements of all kinds - which all looked pretty new. Went out in the kayaks. The water was super calm and peaceful. Have only one suggestion for an improvement. My husband walks with a cane and had a very hard time going up the small front steps because there are no handrails there. It would be very inexpensive to add some sturdy handrails to he few shallow steps in front of the house. But, other than him getting in and out, which he could so with significant help, all of us, including him had a wonderful time. ##### Alberta B. The house lacked storage, no closets in the bedrooms-however there were storage drawers in the beds. No iron/ironing board. No place to hang a coat.
