"Ginger & Cacao" is a sanctuary like organic luxury property of one acre of lush tropical jungle with ocean views. Overlooking the Atlantic, at 10 min walk to Punta Uva beach, one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica. Its layout, with individual homes surrounded only by nature, provides for a relaxing vacation. Ginger & Cacao includes two villas and a cottage, a pool with leisure area and pool pavilion with swinging beds, and caretakers' cottage, with the property laundry. Please note the multiple options for rent: 1\. RENT THE ENTIRE PROPERTY - this option includes renting the two villas Ginger and Cacao (current listing #754932) and the White Cottage, separate listing #750426\. This option sleeps max 10 adults and children included. Please contact the host to book. 2\. Rent the two villas as listed ( sleeps max 8 - adults and children included). 3\. "Ginger & cacao" is perfect for individual vacations, family gatherings, small weddings parties and honeymoons. Each house in the property has its own space and privacy, and each one is unique. High ceilings, hardwood floors, massive wooden doors and large decks complete the villas’ elegant furnishings. Each house has free WiFi and TV/cable. Ceiling and portable fans ventilate every space in the villas, sliding mosquito screens are installed on every door and window. Villa Cacao is build at the elevated portion of the property, it has fantastic ocean and jungle views from all rooms. The villa has one master suit with a queen size bed and an ensuite full bath with indoor and outdoor showers. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher including, and bar which connects it with the large deck. The sitting area has a dedicated full bath and is beautifully furnished with two sofa beds that are set up for comfortable sleeping. Villa Cacao shares the parking bellow the cottage. A private path takes you to the beautiful pool area. Villa Ginger is nested into the surrounding jungle with views of it from every single window and decks. The villa has two air conditioned bedrooms with queen size beds, one full bathroom with jungle views. In addition, ceiling fans in each space keep the villa fresh and well ventilated. The fully equipped kitchen with dining area connects with two large decks. The front deck has sitting area is furnished with a table, chairs, chases and umbrellas. The villa has its own parking space at the front. A minute walk on paved path will take you to the pool area. Both villas have safe deposit boxes installed in the bedroom wardrobes. The White Cottage, the third house at the property, is build under huge trees and next to the pool. The ocean views from its large verandas are terrific. The cottage is full of light. Its style & design truly reflect the owner’s ideas for beach comfort. This cottage is perfect for honeymoon vacations. The beautiful pool area, surrounded by jungle and gardens, includes a pavilion with swinging daybeds, and a leisure area with chaises and umbrellas. The pool area is the perfect spot to see large families of capuchin and howling monkeys raiding the treetops, and to observe the amazing toucans on nearby trees. The property is interesting to explore. It consists of authentic tropical jungle with landscaped bromelia gardens around each house, and plants with lots of colors and fragrance. The numerous cacao trees and ginger plants inspired the name, “Ginger & Cacao”. The property is maintained by caretakers. For your service and convenience, they reside in a separate cottage on the property grounds by the gate. ‘ Ginger & Cacao” is perfectly located at just short walk to Punta Uva Beach, one of the most striking in Costa Rica. A rare place, still kept as natural as possible, with a minimum negative impact of over-development. Here is where the jungle meets the white sand beach with its emeralds waters, and the almond trees to provide a natural shade. It’s not crowded and it's safe for swimming, kayaking and snorkeling. In Punta Uva one feels in complete connection with nature. There is nothing more beautiful than to get on a bicycle and go for an early morning ride to Gandoca- Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. There is so much life and activity in the jungle at this time of the day. Howling monkeys call from the tree tops, butterflies, and birds flying around searching for food. Punta Uva is a very private area, removed from the traffic and congestion in areas closer to Puerto Viejo. There are a few excellent restaurants, grocery stores, bike & tuk-tuk rentals. And if you choose, you can quickly get to Puerto Viejo, by car or bicycle. At night, the action happens in Puerto Viejo. It might look a bit shabby, but give it some time and it will grow on you. The somewhat sleepy village turns vibrant at night, full of life and music, with the smell of food coming from all directions. Ocean-front bars blast reggae and calypso. Shops stay open till late hours. “Ginger & Cacao” offers an exiting and safe place to stay in the middle of the jungle, and a fantastic opportunity for a memorable experience of the Caribbean Costa Rica. We were a little worried about the wild side of the country. Staying at Ginger&Coconut was probably the best decision we made. We were warmly welcome. The house are absolutely perfect, beautiful, clean and safe. Zvezda, Sandra and Pablo have been most helpful and kind. Cocles is also nicely positioned for discovering the country. Throughout our stay, we felt completely safe and secure, which allowed us to truly unwind and be present in the enjoyment of our travel experience.The aesthetic, layout, and functionality of Ginger and Cacao are exceptional — it’s a work of art, equal parts luxurious and grounding. This space is so gorgeous and luxurious, the pool is stunning. and communication with the property owner was smooth. I loved the area where we stayed so much, a gorgeous beach down the road and really lovely local restaurant. I liked being out of the hubbub of Puerto Viejo but a quick ride away, and just as close in the other direction to the local town of Manzanillo. The villas and surroundings are beautiful. The owner Zvezda stopped by to introduce herself and welcome us. We sat around the pool every morning and drank coffee and went back to the pool in the evenings. There were less bugs than we expected, which was nice. The jungle sounds are incredible. We slept with the windows open so we could hear everything. We saw so many critters on the property. Howler Monkeys, spider monkeys, toucans, macaws, poison dart frogs, lizards. Agoutis and lots of sloths just down on the beach (in the trees). The caretaker Cesar was so friendly and helpful. We exchanged numbers on WhatsApp and he responded right away if we needed him!!! We enjoyed the privacy of the villas and the beautiful pool area. We saw monkeys early in the morning and late afternoon while the kids swam in the pool. My son spotted a poison dart frog off the patio. There was some excitement for all ages of my family. The beach was much closer than expected and there were several sodas nearby so we didn’t get back in our car until our departure. The caretakers were very friendly and helpful. The property is incredibly well maintained, and the hosts and property managers are fabulous. The pool cabana is a highlight and the closest beach is almost private. We really used the property for sleeping purposes as well as breakfast prepping and did not enjoy the pool. The surrounding area is beautiful. Beaches and all were just heaven. A wonderful variation to the Guanacaste experience. only issue I would caution folks wanting to book is to have sleep masks as light does shine through 24/7, because at night there are motion sensor lighting. This is not a complain at all. The view of the jungle and ocean from the balcony is exquisite. In the mornings you can hear and see many different birds and hear the howler monkeys in the trees nearby. We sat in the balcony listening and bird watching every day. The pool area and cabana are shared with the other two houses but only one house had visitors who were lovely people. The pool area is gorgeous and the grounds around the entire compound are well kept. The listing for the house we rented was confusing because we thought we were getting 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. If you count the living room as a bedroom, then I guess that is true, although the bench couch would need to be considered a bed. Thankfully my friend did not mind sleeping there and we loved the location, views, and property. There is a convenient store and some small restaurants in walking distance and plenty close by if you are driving or take the local taxi. There is also a nice grocery store in close driving distance. The Punta UVA beach is very close to the south and is gorgeous. The property manager was very responsive and the care-takers lovely and helpful people. We would visit again and stay at the ginger cacao in a heartbeat! ##### Annie H. It truly is an amazing property. Both houses were very clean and had everything we needed for a week. The owner is very easy to contact and will answer any questions you might have. She went out of her way to ensure we had a great time. Everything from setting up the shuttle to/from the airport to dinner recommendations to local attractions to visit. She is awesome! The on-site hosts (Cesar) was also very helpful. From bringing in our bags to setting up taxis. He was awesome. We spent almost every afternoon at the pool. It is a great place to relax and take in nature. In a week we saw macaws, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, sloths and iguanas all on the property. The pool is not an Olympic size pool but perfect for a small family to relax in. Or take a nap in the awesome lounge beds. The property is a bit from Puerto Viejo. Maybe a 8-10 min taxi ride or 20-30 min bike ride. Bike rentals are just at the bottom of the hill ($6 a day). Almost everyone rides bikes to get around. There are a few great restaurants within walking distance as well. Beach is about a 5 min walk. The climb up the road to the property is no joke! But at least and end of it you can head right to the pool to cool off! This truly is an amazing property. I would highly recommend staying here if you decide to vacation in the Puerto Viejo area. You won’t be disappointed! ##### Craig B. Waking up and seeing ocean views framed in with jungle and vibrant floral colors was an incredible part of the overall experience staying at these villas. One villa has the ocean view with the other views of the jungle. The property is in a perfect, private and gated location that only required a short walk down to the beach, restaurants and was also a short taxi or bike ride to nearby towns. Upon arrival we were were warmly welcomed and shown around the two villas where we would be staying, the property’s pool and cabana area and communicated all the things we would need to know about our stay. The villas were clean, stylish and comfortable with the necessities provided to ensure our stay was amazing. Amazing experience overall! ##### Beth W.
