Sunset plaza and the staff are top notch! From the moment we walked in, everyone was super attentive and accommodating. Everything was super clean. The food was delicious and the beers were extremely cold! Honestly I don’t have anything negative to say. I will be booking another stay for next year.

It’s quite a nice hotel. The staff was incredible. The food was maybe a little bland, but still quite good. Pool and beach are great.

We loved our stay at Sunset Plaza! The food is very yummy with lots of options. The staff is very helpful and work hard to make everything nice. We would definitely stay again. One thing to note. Their gluten free options are not celiac friendly. One member of our party was unable to eat at the resort but we found a great gluten free restaurant within walking distance so, it all worked out.

Sunset Plaza was a great stay for my first vacation as early 30-something. Everyone at the resort was very lovely. Special shout outs to Andres, Jorge and the Pizza man! (I'm sorry I didnt get his name!). The Resort winds down around 9PM. If you're a old soul like me, that is perfect. Everyone is so attentive and kind, they really make you feel welcomed. The food menus rotate I think every 4 days. The food was great too. The only con of my trip from the resort perspective was feeling pushed into purchasing a time share. We told them over and over we were not interested, but it was pushy. I respect the hustle, but when someone is communicating over and over that they are not interested, please respect that and let them enjoy their vacay! Other than that, highly, highly recommend this resort and their staff. Thank you all so much for a lovely stay!

This hotel is a scam. They’re very clearly botting their reviews with fake stuff because it’s nothing like the pictures at all. The management is horrible, the food is worse than jail food. I am certain North Korea provides better hotels.

Great resort. The views are unbelievable and the food never disappointed. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The vibe was laid back and fun. Never had trouble getting a chair at the pool and the grounds were beautiful.

Excellent small all inclusive resort, but for older couples rather than big families or spring breakers. No big buffet (except the wonderful Mexican spread on Thursday nights). Restaurant a la carte with various dishes made to order. No night entertainment or dance club. No water sports. For a quiet relaxing weekend. Kudos to the local hardworking staff that go out of their way to accommodate any or your wishes or needs.

Best experience I’ve ever had at an all inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta. From the ease of checking in with assistance from Marina and our Butler Miquel, to the entire staff who are so friendly and willing to bend over backwards to accommodate. The beautiful room with the most awesome view was a highlight of our vacation. Our room was cleaned promptly every day and the mini bar stocked. The Pools and the Grounds are amazing. The Mirador Restaurant was great every day for Breakfast especially. Two of the nights we were there, a Buffet with entertainment was provided. We preferred the Restaurants and ordering from the Menu. There is also Pizza Restaurant, and the thin crust Is great! Food is available 24 hours. I can’t say enough about the staff. They work so hard to please the guests. Don’t forget to tip? They are so dedicated and deserving. We look forward to returning.

We’ve been going to Mexico for 30 years, favorite by far ..this resort is smaller more intimate .. very nice feel ..Ala carte all inclusive food. Choices are very good, quality is good. Coffee shop offers really good fresh fruit, vegetables and pastries. Alex makes great pizzas next to the bakery. Breakfast and lunch choices are good much better than we’ve experienced elsewhere..wait staff is amazing .. Luis, Rolando,Miguel, Jorge, Gabriel, Issac, Juvencio,Alex. bartender restaurant am I didn’t get his name.. awesome service!! Raymundo front very helpful !! Checkin pleasant except for delay due to room not being available .. first to be greeted by someone who isn’t irritated with checking guests in. Suggestions: bring own shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Resort provides this in tiny bottles but quality not good or anything you would want to use. Liquid hand soap as well bring unless you like bar soap that’s provided. Bring ear plugs as noise travels if you have a family of young children next door who are screamers, yellers, like to slam doors or run around the room, resort great with asking them to turn this noise level down a bit. Rope around chairs on the beach keeping venders at a distance, loved this, but rope removed after a couple days so venders allowed to ask you over and over if you wanted to buy as well as guests next door where almost no seating or shade was available coming over to use the chairs and palapas. Tourists staying inland tried to get drinks here from

The hotel was lovely. The views are amazing. The restaurants had different menus every night for dinner. Breakfast was good, the lunch bar I thought was the best it was so good. But I would say by far this was the best service we have ever gotten at an all inclusive. Everyone was so friendly and prompt. Every time you turned around somebody was there asking if you needed anything, I would highly recommend this resort

Great property and we plan to go back next year. There are a couple of things to be aware of: 1. They're building an extension on the hotel. No work was done while we were there, but its is a bit on an eyesore. 2. They have a 45-minute chair hold rule (even make you sign in agreement), but it's not enforced. People go down at 7am and put their towels on chairs to hold them, but then don't show up for 3, 4, 5 or more hours. So go down early if you want a good chair. (forget about getting a cabana) 3. It's a little dated in places. I assume they'll refresh the old section when the new build is complete. 4. The menu gets a little boring, especially breakfast and lunch since it doesn't change. But all in all, it's a great place to vacation and as I said, we'll definitely be going back. The people are lovely, the drinks are good, and the area (PV in general) is great. We walked everywhere and felt completely safe. More so than in many large American cities. Highly recommended.

We have visited this property for the past 5 years every year in December always have loved staying there. However this year they did not care who we were . Gave all the attention to brand new visitors looking to sell time shares only. The loyalty was non exsistsnt. Very cold very rude very uncomfortable

The property has extra large rooms which limits the number of people staying hence reducing any chance of lines or overcrowding. There was always lounge chairs open by the pools every day we stayed. Never stood in line for anything. This is a property for people who aren’t looking for a party atmosphere. It’s a short cab ride into town anywhere and walkable to the Malecon. We would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast and lunch wait staff was excellent and food was delicious. Italian/themed restaurant food was marginal. Bakery was very good and offered daily soup and salad bar. Drinks were good and wait staff at pool side did a nice job. They held a BBQ and Mexican dinner buffet during the week with entertainment and both were very good. Overall a well run establishment. They are in the process of expanding the hotel and it looks as if this work has stopped for some reason. Was told by a timeshare member that the expansion started a few years prior and no reasons given for the stoppage. They do attempt to recruit hotel guests for the timeshare sales pitch. Told them I was interested and wasn't approached again.

Food was only ok generally. Bacon, beef at bbq, fish soup, all inedible. Fish was good (mahi mahi). Occasional bad sewage smell from the ocean - brown scum - (don't swim here!). Pools good. We'd give this one a 3 out of 5.

Prices for all inclusive were cheaper for this than our normal hotel and everyone was very kind especially Mario! The main issues were overcrowded beaches, loud music until late night one night (lots of guests had young kids) and room service food was so bad it was almost consumable. The hotel is going through Reno’s which wasn’t loud just run down looking. The staff were accommodating and it’s a great place for kids! Kids club staff were amazing and it was a small resort so you can feel comfortable letting your kids run around . It’s a great place if you’re not looking for anything fancy!
