We loved the resort itself. The kids' pool was a draw for us and it didn't disappoint. The proximity to a beautiful quiet beach was lovely. The pool was never so busy that we couldn't find a chair for our belongings, and the staff were fantastic. The food was incredibly disappointing, both buffet and restaurants. The desserts were not good - everything had a strange gelatinous consistency. We really disliked that not only was there no poolside service, but we couldn't even get food and bring it poolside. To get a snack we had to pack up our toddler and bring her into a restaurant. There were family friendly shows, but everything was after 8 pm so we couldn't take advantage of them as they were simply too late for our toddler. We did enjoy this resort, but we will likely choose a different one next time.

Service was not the best at all. Not very attentive. Also the food wasn’t that great. Elevator kept breaking down during the day and we had a stroller so you couldnt just take the stairs. Definitely a decent place for families who have kids.

My husband and I just came home from a 10-night trip to Marival Emotions. Leading up to our trip, I was anxious reading poor reviews and once we arrived I was SO impressed by the property, quality of food, amenities, service, on-site activities and even surrounding restaurants. When you read poor reviews by others, you really need to consider what type of people nit-pick things apart. Service: We had our 2-year-old with us so we didn't spend a ton of time getting to know the bar staff. However, we did meet some of the entertainment staff (Carlos and Michelle) and their team were amazing! So friendly, welcoming and approachable. They always recognized our daughter around the resort and it made all of our days. Bar and buffet services were great. Specialty Restaurants: You can book every day at 8:30am. We did not have any issues getting into the restaurants, nor did we have to stand in long lines while booking. Food and service was amazing and a nice treat from the buffet. Buffet was really great! Of course, it's a buffet so some things were amazing and other dishes were okay. I've been to a few all-inclusive resorts and this resort had the best buffets comparable. Room: We had a main floor 1 bedroom suite. It was perfect for our family. The beds are small, room is a little outdated, but honestly- it didn't matter. The overall experience was amazing. We loved the kids shows, adult shows, ice cream every day, all of the resort' activities and events that took place.

Very good option for families with a lot of activities and good animation. Just consider that beds are small so I suggest to select king size. Other note is about food: it is acceptable but not stellar; at breakfast, warm milk is just not an option...

It’s a very nice resort and we had a great time but there are a few negatives. It’s boring because there is not much to do or activities and the buffet is terrible. Also be aware of the wind. This is not the resort’s fault but that area is very windy. The winds starts at around 10am, are strongest mid afternoon and die off by 8pm.

The property - including pools, rooms, grounds, restaurants, beach area, entertainment venue etc - was clean enough. Nothing exceptional. The food was good, our favourite was Asian night. Our biggest issue was honestly the attitude of the staff. We didn’t feel welcome. We felt as though we were imposing when we asked for anything - including a drink. I don’t know if this is because they are understaffed but I would have given anything for a personal conversation or connection with some of the people we saw every day. My experience in other resorts has been very different so I was disappointed with this resort simply for the moral.

This is a great family oriented resort with tons of options for a young family. The food was so so in the buffets. It just stinks that you are hit with a bunch of salesman for the timeshare at the sister hotel. Don't get sucked in...it was supposed to be a 90 minute tour at most and it ended up being a 2 hour 30 minute tour! 3 closers came over to try and sign me up for a timeshare after I said NO a million times. Not a fun, relaxing way to travel. Just pick an all-inclusive that doesn't sell timeshares.

My husband and two toddlers just stayed here for 6 nights and we had the best experience ever. Every day they had different shows at the theater and different activities for the family. Their entertainment team is awesome! Their breakfast buffet has a variety of options. All other restaurants have great options and service, but make sure you make your reservations upon arrival or might not find availability. Overall our experience was amazing and we had something new to do every day of our stay :).

Only people 18 years and older can use the hot tubs, so if you bring children be warned. They have pool tables, ping pong and video games, but they are only available for teenagers. So if you have younger children be warned. They have mini golf but only enough balls for 6 people to play at a time. So don't expect to be able to play. It costs $150 USD to buy a boogie board at the resort store so bring your own water toys with you. If you want to dine at a restaurant you will need to book four days in advance. So good luck getting in to be able to eat there.

Exceeded our expectation's. Don’t listen to the nay sayers. We were nervous based upon reviews we read prior to coming. Far from the truth. Special mentions to Javier at Mai Tai, David at the quiet swim up bar, Natalia at the front desk to name just a few. I wish I remembered the older gentleman’s name at the buffet as he was our best experience in the hotel. We are from Canada and he used to live in Yellowknife for a time and was just the most friendly individual ever. Don’t miss out on the shows at night. Kids loved the magic show and Michael Jackson show.

When we checked in they gave a club room which was from 1990, t wo small beds window view a building and large tree. W e managed to move to the resort room after which was excellent. In the past there was transportation to and from the resort not so this time we had to pay for both ways. Also bar , out door service and pizza ovens not opened during the day as was previously.

As many other reviews stated, our group of 6 was not very impressed by the buffet food. The lunch on the beach and themed dinner nights as well at the snack bar/pizza bar were good though! Martin and Fabian were absolutely wonderful and stood out to us as excellent staff members!

Pros: good for little kids, food and drink were okay, grounds and landscaping was beautiful, beach was large and sand was soft, the shows were entertaining, tennis court is in good condition. The Italian restaurant. Mini golf. Theme nights were fun. Cons: staff weren’t super friendly, almost felt like an annoyance to them?, all of the pools are either kiddie pools or either pretty deep, room was dingy and old, refreshments in the fridge were never replenished, our microwave didn’t work (hard with a baby), the restaurant reservation is such a bad system, we got sucked into the “member” presentation, took us to the nicer resort, waste of 3 hours (our fault I know), no elevators in the hotel rooms (hard with a stroller), and to top it off we got food poisoning on our second last day (from the meat and seafood restaurant)… not a great way to end off the trip. Would probably not come back.

This is a very decent property with attentive, professional staff. The location is easy to get to, and to take outings from. The beach is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Get there and to the pools early, as people park stuff to hold the lounge chairs. We had 2 excellent dinners, great breakfasts, and ok lunches. Buffet was almost the only option as the process of booking the nicer restaurant is very limiting (long lines, "no" is standard answer). So for the price point it was "fair". You can pay for higher services and get more food options, but I didn't try this time.

We just finished a weeks stay at the Marival and were overall quite happy. Here are some tips and things to consider before coming. 1) there is live music in the Voltare lobby which is the bottom floor of the Club building, this is very loud and I would suggest bringing ear plugs as it goes on until 11pm. I’m sure it’s very fun if you are watching however I had a 3 year old in bed. Super thankful for a white noise machine. 2) the reservation system for restaurants is a drag. You can get there early around 7 (opens at 8) and hopefully avoid a large line. Other than that it was a great stay. The resort feels so large and there was always something to do. Everyone was very friendly as well. I did lots of tipping and the staff prefers pesos vs American dollars. Great for kids!

My adult daughter and I took this trip and loved it! We are Muslim and don't drink alcohol or eat pork. We were given a letter to take with us to the dining area and the staff was very good about showing us what had alcohol or pork in the food. Chef Omar was awesome. He cooked us a special dinner when we booked our reservations to Las Palamas. Normally, he works Casa Bella, the buffet area. The buffet food is very good overall, esp the fresh seafood and sushi. The Mexican fiesta-where the buffet was outside, was rather bland, but the entertainment was great. The beach party buffet was better. It was really lovely, having mocktails in the pool and jacuzzi. I do wish the resort had thought to put the jacuzzi by the adult only pool however, as the kids kept getting in it. The sign saying 18 and older only didn't work. The staff took out the beer from our mini fridge at our request and kept it stocked with diet Pepsi, which was great! The resort offered shows every night, but we only went to the magic show, which was spectacular! They have rotating vendors on site nightly, and Augustina, by the adult pool daily Mon-Sat. She offers premade souvenirs, or you can paint your own and she will detail it, elevating it to a work of art. Camelia did ceramic bowls and I painted a candle holder and a wooden spoon rest, A relaxing day painting and she turned mediocre work into fabulous art. She is wonderful! Marival Emotions is terrific with spectacular scenery and kind and helpful staff.
