Great first experience in Puerto Vallarta

Posted 29-Aug-2015
We stayed in the 2 bedroom panoramic suite in tower 5. Beautiful views. Fantastic room layout; one room for the kids and the matter suite for us. The wrap around balcony with hammock, jacuzzi, dinner table, chairs and lounge chairs was perfect. Lots of space for my kids, 2 and 3, to run around. The hotel facilities are great as well. Kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, hiking, and on... Too many to list. Highlights: Dinner at the adults only Hiroshi - incredible dining experience. Went twice and birth times were fantastic and different. Thanks to Jose and Rodriguez who provided the tasting menu experience. Hiking (advanced)- Hike through the jungle to the waterfall. Climb up the side and jump in to the pool below. Exhilarating. This place is fantastic by any standard.

Puerto Vallarta Gem

Posted 26-Aug-2015
Pros: The service is wonderful!!! Jaime, Oswaldo, Emiliano and crew at the panoramic pool ensured that our glasses were always full and all needs were met.
This was our second visit to Garza Blanca and most definitely not our last. My husband and I absolutely love this resort, spa, and preserve. From the beauty of the lush surroundings to the top notch service, this resort is beyond compare. If you are hesitating on booking; don't delay! Garza Blanca is an amazing place!!!! The food is excellent and paralleled by the awesome service. Jose Luis at Hiroshi, Leobardo at BocaDos steak house, Alfredo at Blanca Blue, and Jaime and crew at the pool, are all worth mentioning in their superior service. Also, take advantage of the spa services. They are marvelous. I recommend the Mexican ritual to the ladies. It is a heavenly chocolate wrap and hot stone massage. If you want to enjoy the scenery around the resort, take advantage of the many daily activities they offer. From kayaking to Los Arcos for snorkeling to hiking in the mountains for a swim in the waterfall, you will find fun in these free excursions. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful Garza Blanca is. It is truly a magical place!

A week in paradise...

Posted 24-Aug-2015
This was our 5th trip to Puerta Vallerta and we were very pleased with our fist time stay at Garza Blanca. The resort was like a dream, every detail perfected. The staff was amazing! The food was even better. Our room was very clean and comfortable and well maintained. The only thing that I didn't like was the heavy Budist influence of the decor, not that it was offensive just seemed a little excessive. Puerta Vallarta is such a beautiful place with beautiful people and Garza Blanca reflected that perfectly. Will be dreaming of that view until we return...

Great Hotel and beach but beware of bugs and sales

Puerta Vallarta itself is for the most part not very nice. We did not spend much time there. In general here's what was good and bad in our first-timer experience: GOOD -- almost everything about the luxurious Garza Blanca hotel, 2 very good tours we took into the interior through Puerta Vallarta Adventures (Hidden Mexico and San Sebastián del Oueste), the friendliness of the Mexican people; BAD -- the aggressiveness of people trying to sell you tours as soon as you land at the PV airport, the mosquitos (much quieter, smaller and nastier than their U.S. cousins), and the hard-sell time-share pitch we sat through to get a 30% discount at La Garza Blanca.

Exceptional service

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: The quality of the staff at Garza Blanca was truly exceptional. They even placed their hand over their heart when they greeted us in the hallways!
Cons: Internet service is $10 a day (free in the lobby) and is difficult to access from the rooms. It's also very spotty; sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Location: A short cab or bus ride away from the busy and fun Malecon (boardwalk). Highly recommend "El Campanario" and "El Arrayan" for authentic local food!
The phrase that comes to mind when I think of our experience at Garza Blanca is exceptional service. The staff was so friendly, gracious, and courteous that it was a pleasure to be around them. They went out of their way to be helpful and tried to accommodate us in every possible way. The facilities are beautiful and very well maintained. The swimming pools have stunning views of the ocean, and the water is surprisingly warm. The restaurants are excellent, but a bit expensive. We had the "Breakfast Inclusive" option with our room, so we enjoyed a free breakfast buffet every morning. The buffet offered a wide variety of delicious foods, both warm and cold, and it was one of the highlights of our day! The hotel also offers a number of fun activities -- snorkeling, kayaking, jet skiing, hiking, and yoga by the river. The gym facilities at the Musai are also excellent, with incredible views of the ocean while you work out!

Beautiful Views And Even Better Service

Posted 11-Aug-2015
Pros: The location - close to Puerto Vallarta, but far enough along the coast to be a little quieter. And the staff, which were truly wonderful to a person.
Location: Garza Blanca is very tropical. The snorkeling and kayaking at Los Arcos is good and the Puerto Vallarta Zoo is a short drive away.
My wife and I spent six great days at Garza Blanca. In those six days, we experienced fantastic service from everyone we encountered, enjoyed wonderful meals at each of the restaurants and utilized the beach, pool and spa facilities. Even if you don't use the spa (and you should), you must at least visit for the sheer spectacle of it and the views from the aqua room. The gentlemen running the water sports on the beach, including the kayak tours to Los Arcos, were great. They kept us safe and entertained every day. The various restaurant staffs were gracious and the quality of the food never varied - it was outstanding. The property affords great views of the hillside jungle, the ocean and all of Banderas Bay. We enjoyed spectacular lightening storms in the evenings from our balcony as well. Most of all, we appreciated the consistent, friendly demeanor of the staff. They make Garza Blanca stand out in the Puerto Vallarta resort market. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to visit.

Good staff+facilities, bad food+Internet

Posted 9-Aug-2015
Pros: Nice rooms, good service.
Cons: 1. Provide free Internet 2. Add more food choices. Mexican restaurant would be great.
This was my 2nd stay at GB. Facilities and service are very good. Lot’s of space, friendly staff. Everything seems to be in order and well organized. From upper floors one gets spectacular view. Beach is clean and kids can snorkel and see some fish right in front of the hotel. Now to the bad stuff: 1. Internet access is $60 USD per week PER DEVICE! This is crazy. Our family is reasonably high tech and we brought our laptops, phones, and iPads/Kindles. Of course we won’t be using more than one at a time so I do not see why we should pay such astronomic prices to be able occasionally access Internet from any them. The only place where one can get free WiFi is near the pool at Aqua Azul, but it is so slow it is pretty much useless. 2. Why instead of great Mexican food they decided to crappy and pretentious imitation of international cuisine is beyond me. For dinner you have option of Italian, Steakhouse and Japanese. If you ever tried the real thing of any of these you would immediately tell that how unauthentic are Garza Blanca versions. The best food you can get is again at the poolside bar, where they have some snacks like wraps, nachos, quesadillas, etc. Breakfast buffet is pseudo-continental, but also lacking. Final warning: if you are a vegetarian, like myself, you will have hard time find suitable food at premises. One only can eat that much cheese quesadillas and scrambled eggs (on days when they chose not to mix in some sausages).

Beautiful hotel

Posted 9-Aug-2015
Pros: Staff is very friendly and the facilities are beautiful, it's also a great location.
Cons: Food-menu, selection, more authentic Mexican would be better than American food.
Location: Great location if you are up for exploring and riding the bus-which you should! has easy access to Mismaloya, Los Arcos and old Vallarta and more!
This is the second time we've stayed at Garza Blanca, which was two years ago. It's still a beautiful hotel with great staff but we really wish the food was authentic Mexican instead of not so great American food-I'm sure it's fine for others but we tried to eat outside the hotel as much as possible where food is amazing and way less expensive. The breakfast at the restaurant Blanca Blue was disappointing because you used to be able to order from a wonderful, delicious menu but now the only option is a breakfast buffet which is just ok. Also the beach seems to be shrinking-it's half the size it was two years ago because of rocks washing up on the shore-it's still beautiful it just makes the ocean in front of the hotel more crowded since there is much less area roped off for guests.
