Reasonable all inclusive resort at DR. Easy beach front access and other areas of interests in Puerto Plata. Dining options are limited and the food was not the best quality, especially the buffet service. Room was clean and the staff were very cooperative.

The staff carry the hotel. Security guard show me the parking space. Somebody took the luggages and took us to our room. We received call for picking up the luggages. The shows were impressive.

Viva Tangerine is one of the best all inclusive hotels in the area and for shure the best at Cabarette beach. Spent one week there. Family friendly. Hotel size is just about right, not too big, not too small and that makes every guest special. Hotel has a big pool just in front of the ocean. Bar is good. All kind of drinks in there. Good buffet and three a la carte restorants. If you stay for a week you can pick each of them. We tried two: Fusion and Mexican and they were good. Very fast service. Usually I dont like a la carte because of waiting time, but its not this case. Seems like hotel managment makes work right. All staff is very friendly. Etertainment team just grait converting hotel routine into adventure. For thouse who like to play volleyboll, the net and ball is in there at the beach. Hotel has water sport activities like kayaks, paddleboards, sail boat, diving senter. While hotel located at one the famous kite beaches in the world and you want to try that, many kite scools arround and one of them just around the corner. Within 5-10 min short walk from outside of hotel you'll find everything you need like supermarket, pharmacy or car rental with very reasonable prices. So you can rent a car and explore the area wich is way more nature compare to other side of the island. Withis in 100-150 mi around you'll find everything from beutiful uncrowded beaches to caves, waterfalls, lagunas and underground lakes. Will definitely come back some day.

Room was moldy, which is not good for a person with lung cancer, such as myself. The food was mediocre at best. Other resorts / hotels in Dominican Republic have much better food. Staff not so friendly. Restaurants that needed reservations were understaffed and seemed to rush people through their meals.

During my recent stay at Viva Tangerine, I experienced a mix of positives and negatives that I believe potential guests should be aware of. One of the notable issues I encountered was the behavior of some male staff members. While most of the staff were professional and courteous, there were instances where certain male staff members were overly friendly, especially towards women traveling alone. This eagerness to push themselves on guests was off-putting and, at times, unsettling. Another aspect that left much to be desired was the quality of the buffet food. While there were one or two meals that were passable, the overall quality was disappointing. Many guests, myself included, found the variety and taste lacking. Additionally, the rooms themselves were outdated, echoing the sentiments of other guests who had stayed there previously. However, one of the hotel's strengths is its convenient location within the town. The entertainment was really good and It’s 20min from the airport, so if your flight is delayed no rush! It's great to have the option to step out and explore the local food scene, especially since the hotel is situated in an area with several dining options within walking distance. Nonetheless, it's frustrating to pay for food outside the hotel when it's supposed to be included in the all-inclusive package. This discrepancy between expectation and reality regarding food costs can be a significant downside for budget-conscious travelers.

It wasn’t what I was expecting. From what we saw from pictures, it appeared like a more put together resort. The room had wallpaper peeling off the walls. One light worked in the room. We had to call maintenance to fix the issue. When the main light was being fixed, water poured out of the covering of the light and splatted on the floor. The ceiling paint was peeling and hanging from the ceiling due to the water damage of the AC. Definitely a more family friendly resort, if that’s not what you are looking for. Staff were very accommodating and were very intentive.

Before going to this property, I read the reviews and thought, it looks nice I think the reviewers were a little harsh, but I witnessed for myself that they weren’t. The best thing about this property is some of the staff. They were friendly and eager to help. The buffet can use an update. If you eat pork, you’ll be happy. I only eat chicken and fish, so breakfast was limited to carbs and fruits, lunch was ok, but if you were in line, staff members would cut the line in front of guests. Never have I seen that at ANY resort I’ve visited. The drinks were not well made , so if you’re a drinker, be prepared for long lines and small glasses lol. The doors are not properly sealed, so not only the light comes into the room from the hallway, but you can hear all the noise as well. No washcloth in my son’s room and when he called, it took them an hour to get them to him. Restaurants are very small, so getting a reservation is almost impossible because the people who have bought their version of timeshares, has priority over everyone else and they’re not embarrassed to say that to the guest either. If you’re a surfer or love water sports, this beach is for you. Water is very rough, so you can go in and get beat up by the water, or you can stay by the pool. Btw, no umbrellas at the pool. My opinion on this resort is that they cater only to the people that buy into their timeshare and not all there guests. I guess they don’t value the fact that we all paid to stay.

The staff at the resort the was good. They were incredibly helpful, friendly, and made our stay enjoyable. The pool and beach area were perfect for relaxing and felt safe. The availability of food and drinks was convenient and refreshing. However, I did encounter a few issues with my room. The ceiling light was not working, and there was no hot water in either of the rooms. Additionally, we had to reset the door cards for both rooms as they were not functioning properly. They had to change the battery in one of the door system at midnight becuase the card wasn't working. Furthermore, the air conditioning in my room didn't work until 1am on my last night. The room became unbearably hot, and I was sweating excessively. I reported this issue multiple times since my arrival, but they were not resolved until midnight on my last night. It was frustrating to deal with the lack of cold air, especially considering I had made numerous reports. Finally, after sending someone to fix it, I was able to enjoy some much-needed cool air. Despite these issues, I found the overall ambiance of the place to be nice and relaxing.

The property, staff, and beach were amazing and exceeded expectations. The food at the buffet was also great with a wide selection for each meal. The only complaint in these reviews that is legit is there is often not hot water. Wish I could have stayed longer.

The place globally looks great and lovely, dinning and its area is somewhat fair. But room has NO working phone for all days stayed. Shower time to time stop watering while taking shower. It takes two before someone even came to open a safe. Internet service or wi-fi is 4 on 10. Personally my staying was not satisfactory.

The elevator was broken during the entire stay; No access to Wi-Fi. The room balcony only can hold one person. The bathroom had multiple leaks: the sink and behind the toilet. Not to mention lukewarm water in the shower. If your woman is staying alone, be careful. Staff members follow you around continuously, asking what room you're in and trying to sell excursions on the side. Made it known there are cameras only in certain areas. Do not purchase hotel round-trip transportation. It was triple the price, and they never picked us up upon arrival.

Viva Tangerine was smaller than advertised I feel…only one bar for the entire hotel and lines formed at the bar at times. The pool is small and seemed a bit dirty at times (with leaves and sand). Food was average; not much diversity and meat/chicken items went fast. Had to make sure to be there early to get more variety of items. The Italian restaurant was good also, although some of the seafood items tasted a bit old/defrosted. The staff was super inviting and entertaining; they really went out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Ok for a quick weekend getaway, if you’re looking something upscale, this might not be to your liking.

The property is outdated. Friendly staff however in desperate need of training. Food options very limited, poor quality and poor presentation. Not enough shade around pool or property. In terms of the rooms, one day no towels, another no soap and another day no water. Beautiful beach without any infrastructure. Horse and animal poop on the sand every day. Advertised pictures are not current.

Very small property with limited options for food. This is the first resort that calls Johnnie Walker red label, “top shelf”. The concierge service just wants to sell you a timeshare right when you arrive. I traveled with my family of 5 and had better luck paying to eat at surrounding restaurants by the beach. And yes, the other reviews are true, no hot water, constant septic smell when you shower. Last but not least, if you’re European or from the States, the staff is so nice, but the second they know you’re latino/Hispanic, they could care less about you. Most of the attention goes towards them, and the worst part is, the don’t even tip well. But hey, save yourself the trip and find better accommodations elsewhere if any of this makes sense.

The pool side and the beach was the highlight of my trip..the food was terrible they didn't make much if an effort with the food, the drinks was water down with cheap liquor that you couldn't taste. We were given a single room,when we paid for a double queen room. Didn't get our room until 3pm the next day, so basically we paid for 3 days and only got 2 days out of ouout of our package
