Nothing terrible here. It’s safe and it’s okay. Restaurant food was limited in selection and mediocre in taste. No coffee maker, fridge, or microwave in room. Complimentary breakfast, on the other hand, was outstanding.

    I have stayed in many many many hotels around the world and this was pretty bad. First off, checked in and VIP status means nada to them, even when brought to their attention was told it doesn’t say anything in their computer. Well also it didn’t take out credit card in their computer that we put on file to have coffee in the lobby so they called us multiple times after we were asleep to rush down to pay our two coffees even though we had left a CC on file. Room was old, dirty and the AC didn’t work. Long story short, no apologies at checkout. Expedia has never let me down but this is NOT a VIP hotel in any sense of the word and should be removed.

    I stayed here during the violence, protests and curfews in Chile. There were police stationed outside the hotel in the streets and big armored trucks. At night we walked just outside the door and our eyes started to sting from the tear gas. The entrance to the parking garage was locked shut and when I wanted to leave there was nobody there to open the gate. I had to repark and then go back into the reception where people were on their whatsapp and ask them to have someone let me out. There was a curfew so all of the workers had to leave early I guess so they shortened the hours of the dinner and the bar until 8pm. It really wasn't a good experience. The exception was the manager in the restaurant Mauricio and one of the female bartenders who I am sorry that I don't know her name, who really seemed focused on making the guests feel comfortable during an uncomfortable time. I never saw either of them on their phones and they went out of their way to make sure the guests had what they needed and make things seem less stressful..they made sure one tv had a sports game instead of the depressing news about the situation in the country. When the workers left last night Mauricio made sure to tell the customers that there was a table set up with coffee, juices and other snacks for us during the night which I think was a very professional and helpful thing to do in this situation. I hope the situation in Chile improves soon.

    The employees act like they are captives and spend a lot of times on their phones and not interested in helping guests. Exception being the housekeeping staff who always seemed to be working and were helpful and kept the rooms and common areas clean. "Room Service" is a joke. There is no menu in the room and they will bring a sandwich to your room until 10pm but you have not idea of what you can order; and it is just 3 or 4 sandwiches until 10pm. I ordered something and when the woman delivered it she basically threw it at me, said nothing and angrily left. She was short, overweight and mean. The happy hour is a 4 or 5 ounce pisco sour and I am not even sure if it costs less than the normal price. The Merluza in the dining room for dinner was really good but again, the servers seem very resentful that they are the ones working. The wifi is not stable and it would drop out often especially in the evening and very early in the morning. There is no mini bar or coffee in the room and there is nowhere in the hotel or within walking distance to get anything to eat. They do offer a good selection of wines by the bottle that are overpriced but of good quality and they have a self serve beer cooler when the restaurant is open but the beer is not all that cold.
