The restaurant staff & housekeeping/groundskeeping staff were lovely people and so kind to us. We loved being so close to town, being able to use the bikes and paddle boards at the hotel, loved the little vibe of the property itself -- and that the iguanas, lizards and sea lions were usually hanging around on the dock made for endless entertainment. We had the best stay on Santa Cruz. The room I had was spacious and cleaned daily. The staff was very helpful and available to answer your questions. The rooms face the bay, some completely and others partly. It was dreamy… the restaurant smells were great and made me hungry… the restaurant itself,(not associated with the hotel) meh. The staff was friendly, but they want to make money off of you- so save your money and go into the town and book your own activities. You’ll save a ton of money. But I liked this place. Very accommodating. It was a little noisy- lots of birds in the rafters and lizards coming in and out… but I actually enjoyed them. I had ample hot water - the best shower! The rooms were very clean, great view, very helpful staff. My only recommendation would be to not use the tour company in the hotel. I booked a tour after being very specific in what I wanted to see. I was assured it was possible but once I arrived the tour guide explained there was not enough time within my limited time to see what I came for. Very disappointed. Was not offered any refund or other compensation.
