Spacing for your auto is tight. Your bed is half a block off Commercial St which ensures privacy and lack of noise. The nicely appointed space is adequately sized for two guests. The location couldn't be beat. Steps to everything, but on a quiet side street that felt tranquil. The condo is tastefully decorated with local art and had everything we needed for a perfect and comfortable stay. The owner was great to work with. We even mentioned that we had planned a whale watch and he had a small pair of binoculars delivered to us to use. We are looking forward to a longer stay next fall when we have more time. The greatest advantage was its location just off Commercial Street, no more than 10 minutes walk from the piers, shops, and restaurants. We were able to walk to everything - the Pilgrim Monument, shopping, eating, people-watching, whale-watching. It also was one of the few rentals that close to the center that also had a parking space. The amenities had been updated - large recent refrigerator, gas stove, excellent TV, responsive heating/cooling unit, shared washer and dryer available. (Very trivial - there was an iron but we never found an ironing board.) The host (Rob) was excellent - helpful, friendly, sending detailed information in advance, answering our calls on the first ring. Liabilities: One liability we had thought of as an advantage - the unit is on the first floor, which means fewer stairs - but first floor raises privacy issues. We felt we had to keep the blinds down. There is no view at all anyway - only parked cars on both sides. The location (with parking) made up for a lot. Rob made up for a lot.
