Sekoya Sancturary offers a new free standing spilt level home nestled into a serene redwood forest. The home is private offering a calm and meditative environment, yet close to town. Sekoya Sanctuary is great for a romantic get away or family vacation as we are close to beaches and both state and National forests. The local area offers wonderful farmer’s markets, a multitude of restaurants and endless local beaches.

We rented this home because it seemed to check all of our boxes, especially the hot tub. Upon arrival, there was no hot tub. The host, Elisabeth, said that the box for hot tub was checked erroneously on VRBO and she has since fixed that. We would not have chosen this place if we had known if did not have a hot tub, especially for the price. On day 3 of our 4-night stay, we noticed the refrigerator stopped working. There was a lot of open food left behind from previous guests, I guess. That food, and our food, went bad. After a long day of sightseeing, we came home to find this out and had to go back into town, which is a bit of a drive, to get dinner last minute. Elisabeth offered one free night off a future stay; however we declined since we told her we really wanted a place with a hot tub- but could she reimburse us just for our food & inconvenience, which was much less than the one night she had offered. This is where the run around began. Lack of responses, when she had been an excellent communicator at the beginning, and just excuse after excuse. Something just didn’t seem right.

REJUVENATION!!!!
Wow, what can we say!!! Nestled right in the Redwoods, surrounded by the magnificent trees, a super clean and cozy place. It really felt like we were in another world. This was by far the most relaxing, rejuvenating, peaceful place we’ve ever stayed at. Elisabeth was just the best! Gave us tips on where to go, she really took care of us and made us feel right at home. It’s really close to Eyreka and Arcata but far enough away to really feel the essence of the ginormous tree energy. So grateful we chose this little prince of paradise over the city. We left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and rebirthed. We can’t wait until we can come back again. We can’t say enough how magical this place is. If you’re on the fence where to stay STAY HERE!!!! You will be grateful you did. Thank you Elisabeth, we will be back!!!!

Perfect stay in the Redwoods
My husband and I, our two adult children and their partners met up for a family visit in Kneeland. We live in PA, while our kids live in Portland, OR and LA, respectively. Our main rental for the week was Elizabeth’s wonderful, pristine cabin. We also rented a studio nearby, so that everyone could spread out for sleeping but the cabin could have comfortably fit all of us. We had our best family vacation ever! The cabin has plenty of private nooks and crannies as well as great gathering spots. For the most part, we spent the days hiking in the forests and by the shoreline, and spent the evenings at the house. It is so quiet and peaceful there! Perfect for a family gathering. Elizabeth is an incredible host. She is an excellent communicator and is absolutely tuned in to the needs of her guests while never being intrusive. This is a fairly new rental but it’s so homey, with so many lovely nuances, that it feels as though the host has been doing this for some time. I highly recommend this rental and hope many more travelers get to experience a stay in this magical place.
