We greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Smeraldo and even stayed an extra night. Our hosts were so kind and helpful. We will definitely be returning!

Very nice hotel. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate every need, including having the chef prepare some food we bought at the market for a special diet. The view from the restaurant is amazing.

Loved the location, the restaurant in the hotel has a great view of the Med Sea, good food and nice service. They took good care of our rental car when parking it for us. The wifi was very good. We felt very welcomed by the family owners of the hotel. We hope to be back soon.

I posted comments first on TA before posting my review here. I was contacted by the property owner and was criticized because of my review. I booked a bit late in the game and only found a few options close to Positano. The hotel has no parking and is on the main busy road. They were great about getting my car to a garage for me. The room was outdated and dirty and had a horrible smell of mold. I was in a rush upon check-in and meet up with family so I opened all the windows to air it out hoping that when I return in the evening the smell would be gone. We returned at 1030 p.m. our room still smelled of mold. As my daughter was showering, she noticed green stuff and residue all over the shower curtain. We had to lift up the curtain and shower without it. I noticed on the main lamp had months of spider webs. After about 20 minutes my coughing (had bronchitis at the time) continued to get worse. I called upstairs to the reception office and asked for someone to come to the room, so I was able to show them the condition in which they put us. The gentlemen immediately offered us a better room and helped us move our things. I appreciated the gesture. Make sure to specify to not stay in any of the rooms on -3 floors, for the entire level smells of mold. Beautiful view, nice terrace! Breakfast was subpar, low quality products, the coffee was terrible, but they did have some savory items. The staff was very kind.

Since your arrival, we noticed you would have been a hard trouble. You are the 1st guest reporting these bad things about our hotel. I guess it is strange as very top class people stayed and reported really well about it (read others' comments). So, I came towards you and made you change room. But what you are telling should be taken into a Court. I think you are a person, just looking for an opportunity to get your money back. Let s talk about your rude attitude since your arrival at my hotel: you did not intend to show your ID, threatening to get the bill receipt within the following morning. We were very gentle and you had also confirmed that, after I could move you into a new room according to your request. You tried to complain for your car's scretchs but fortunately I had some witnesses upon your arrival that made me awake about it. I am not surprised about your report as our experience makes us able to recognize people who travel with the same intentions as you.
