The staff was friendly and the property location was great. We had a problem with the door to our room. The staff attempted to fix the issue and was clearly frustrated with it. After finally correcting the issue after wasting nearly two hours we went to dinner and came back to the door not properly locking once again. They did agree to move our room but would have separated us from my elderly parent who needs assistance. Nice people but property needs more upkeep.

This hotel was exactly what I needed to decompress and relax before returning home from a retreat I hosted in Tamarindo. Potrero (where the hotel is located) is really quiet and offers limited options for restaurants and shopping - which I like. This is the perfect relaxed get-away!

Hotel is great location if you are looking for beach access and to explore Potrero. Unfortunately front desk male staff very rude upon check in when asking very simple questions. Other staff quite friendly.

Beautiful beach front and view. Rooms felt more rustic than anticipated and more bugs in this area than a little bit west down the beach. Food mediocre. Convenient for the small town and grocery store nearby.

Great location with a large crescent beach. Enjoyable walk both morning and evening. Chaise lounges overlooking the rolling waves under the palm trees. Off the beaten path. Lovely little beach town.

Book directly with the hotel -- avoid Hotels.com
Hotels.com and Bahia del Sol combined to lose my "confirmed" reservation. Neither has taken any accountability for it. The hotel blamed Hotels.com for not noticing that they had not confirmed my booking. As such, I would advise folks to book directly with Bahia del Sol -- research rates on Hotels.com and then book directly with the hotel. It was an absolute nightmare and very expensive to have to book again at the last minute. We lost a day of vacation and Hotels.com has not answered me. The staff at Bahia del Sol were nice about the screw up, so I'm hoping if they are upset about this review they will urge Hotels.com to take some accountability and reach out to me. It hasn't happened yet. (They offered to get back to me in "48 hours" when it happened, which is a joke since the original stay was for 3 nights)

I was very pleased with this property and the grounds. Only downfall was that there was no hot tub and the pool constantly had leaves in it, but that's to be expected when you are surrounded by beautiful trees and landscape. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff was very friendly.

Very nice guardsman , I would say get airport transfer from elsewhere because they wanted to charge 115 and we found it for 90 . Room was clean , staff was nice - we only stayed 1 night as it was the closest to our family in reserve Conchal

Great place to relax. Beautuful landscaping.Our only issue was the wait staff in restaurant were very slow and then tried several times to take plates before we were done. We went for happy hour and our waiter didn't know it was HH, then brought wrong menu and while we were looking at that, finally brought correct menu. It was almost empty in restaurant. Margaritas with orange liquor were excellent and 2 for 1 in HH.

Rooms are not really clean at all (I stayed in 2). Staff is mediocre and seem bothered to assist you. They hardly came for service by the pool/beach- had to walk up to get service. Only 4 umbrellas on the entire resort. Everyone else has to bake in the sun. Cheap with the towels - only 1 per person and it’s not big enough to cover the entire Lounge chair. Breakfast that’s included was like a Denny’s at best, but not even as good. Other food was mediocre. No info about amenities provided at checkin. 3.5 star class does not mean lower service or cleanliness it just means less amenities- but not in this case - everything at this hotel is below average. Beach is black sand btw- not the best option in Guanacaste. Idk how these other reviews are so positive but it definitely did not feel like a beachside resort, more like a Motel 6 by the beach.

Great beach resort for the price. Amazing location on the beach , with enough restaurants around to have needed conveniences. The hotel is not the newest and start to show needs of maintenance is some rooms, but that’s a small inconvenience given the location for the prices

The family room on the second floor is very outdated, sad looking and not maintained. The mini bar items were missing on our first day, not replenished at all, the cleaning/housekeeping didn’t happen, the washrooms don’t look great, there was nothing to watch on the TV. I felt that for getting a bigger room, it was worse. The rooms on the main floor looked way nicer and it looked like it was a different hotel. Also, mugs had cobwebs on them, just very low cleanliness which threw us off. The guard offered the best customer service- always smiling and welcoming us- so friendly. Otherwise everyone else was ok.

Great beachfront hotel! We loved the beach access and the outdoor space with umbrellas and lounge chairs. The pool with its swim-up bar was great as well. All the staff were so friendly and kind. We tried both restaurants during our stay and especially loved Mangue for tapas.

Great beachfront property with access directly to the beach/ocean. Breakfast included with the rate we paid. Not much in the way of shopping within walking distance but there is a market and pharmacy a few minutes walk from hotel. Decent selection of dining options within walking distance as well. Bring bug spray or wipes you can use and traveling around the area with. Many people we met and 4/5 people in our group got quite a few bites. Not sure exactly what but you don't seem to notice getting bit, just welts and itching shortly after. Most all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating!

They literally saved my life!!! Not literally but I drove and I got so lost. I called them, Diego answered; he gave me instructions on how to get to the hotel, once I was there, I was greeted by security, they had my keys and helped me get settled in. Aside from that incredible service. The food at Nasu was so yummy, all the staff was great!

One cold issue
The hotel is in decent shape. The food is very good and the service is amazing. My only complaint is I never had any hot water in the hot tub or the shower. They sent someone to check it out but nothing changed. Cold showers and a waste of an upgrade on a hot tub that couldn’t get hot.

Perfect location, right on the beachfront. Incredible views, both during the day, and especially at Sunset Welcoming, professional and friendly staff, who quickly remembered our names and room number. What I liked was the the staff and willingness to help and satisfy your stay. What we did not like was for the prices you are paying not much you are getting but a free limited specific daily breakfast could be a challenge if you’re with a family and are staying for a week. No activities or amentities to enjoy with family only a place to sleep that’s all you get. Any activity or tour you want to book thru the hotel you will charged double the amount then if you was to step out on the street and purchase tours from nearby agencies

The staffs were amazing, the view is great but the room is a bit outdated. The road to the hotel was under construction so it’s not easy to get there. Otherwise it’s a nice place to stay.
