"Property is gorgeous and I was drawn to it being part of the old castle. But it is up on the Alana hill and not all taxi or Uber drivers will take you all the way to hotel. Book airport shuttle service through the hotel if possible. There are also peacocks around the hotel that are very loud and act like a roaster waking you up early in the morning. Staff was great. Very attentive and helpful "

"Classic style hotel with excellent service. Wonderful sitting areas including a lovely library with a balcony. Friendly staff and service oriented. Location is a little out of the main square in a somewhat more quiet, upscale neighborhood. Several nice restaurants walking distance from the hotel. Furniture is a bit tired and could use an upgrade. "

"The hotel is centrally located in a very nice and safe part of Lisbon. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast delicious and available amenities very nice. The only issue we ran into was that the restaurant recommendations from the staff were terrible. Do NOT eat at Gina’s - some of the worst food of the trip."
