You are in a residential area two blocks from the downtown, a half a mile to the Portsmouth Naval Hospital and a Starbucks one block away. This is a historic building on the National Register of Historic Places. It consists of four apartments; one on the second floor is your vacation home. The space: The apartment is 1,100 square feet consisting of 2-bedrooms, 1 bath with a full kitchen, a work-space area, washer/dryer, living/dining room and front porch. The apartment was clean and the owner was very responsive whenever we had questions. It was made very clear prior to choosing this property that it was an older building. There are restaurants and entertainment within walking distance as well as ferries that can take you to waterside. Everything was as described and worked as described. The only thing I want to warn against is the stairs to the apartment, they could be pretty tough for the elderly, anyone with bad knees or handicapped people.
