"Montenegro is beautiful. Fantastic hotel, staff were great and restaurant was excellent. Recommend asking the hotel to book taxis as you will pay much more on your own. Kotor cable car and rides are a must, amazing views and the rides were fun! Tip - avoid the cruise ship crowds by going early, opens at 9am. Airport struggled with volume of people but we didn’t miss our flight!"

"We made a last minute change to a planned itinerary for a driving tour of Montenegro from Split. We were going to Budva first but many locals said Budva was not for us and suggested Tivat. Porto Palace was available and I arranged a 3 night stay. As it last minute we took what was available and had a low floor with no view. The rooms are apartments with full kitchens. A combo washer and dryer with detergent was a pleasant useful surprise in a 3 week Europe trip. The rooms are very nice and there is a ton of space with a large living area. Storage in the main bathroom is very limited but it was ok. Very pretty but limited utility. Parking in their garage is included. The immediately adjacent Porto Montenegro is stunning and a brief walk. Budva and its beautiful old town is a 40 minute drive and the Kotor cable car which is a must do is midway back to Tivat. We very much enjoyed our stay and were happy we switched to Tivat. One of the highlights of the hotel is breakfast. Beautiful breakfast room with wonderful service. This gentleman in this photo has to be one of the most personable genuine and friendly waiter we have ever met in our travels. He was amazing! We can strongly recommend Tivat and Porto Palace."

"Four night B&B stay. One of the most expensive hotel rooms we had in Montenegro and slightly on the small size, though comfortable and cleaned well. Staff service at the hotel is generally excellent, particularly Anna as the Restaurant Manager, and Tony on main reception. We had a particular issue with a strong unpleasant smell in our room. The hotel was full, so they couldn't move us, but they purchased a diffuser for our room and provided a plug in air freshener to mask the smell, the source of which could not be located. They offered a room move on day 3, but not wanting to re-pack and un-pack again we declined. Instead, on the last evening they provided a complementary meal and drinks at their rooftop bar as compensation. Food was outstanding and the best we had in over three weeks in Montenegro! Breakfasts were also of a high quality with plenty of choice, though some a la carte options took an age to be served from the kitchen. We would stay again despite the issue we had, as it was obvious that the staff cared for their guests and wanted to try and make a difference."

"Gorgeous hotel in Tivat. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order, so always hot. Helpful and friendly staff throughout our stay. We really liked the location, which was a 5 minute stroll to the shops and restaurants. Plenty of sun beds, and the place never seemed crowded. Overall a fantastic stay in a beautiful country"
