Apartment is about 1.5 miles from historic old town. For my husband and I (70 and 75 years old) it was not a problem because we are walkers/hikers and enjoyed it. If you don’t mind walking, there are many places to explore on foot, but otherwise Ubers are really cheap and come quickly. We also used the metro to get about. Jeronimo was very helpful at every opportunity and also accommodated us when we arrived early. The rooms are spacious and there is plenty of storage space. You have a washing machine and an airer to dry clothes on, which is useful. There is also a dishwasher and full size fridge freezer. There are quite a few supermarkets within walking distance of the apartment. We felt very safe walking around. There are a few homeless people, but none that bothered us in any way.
