The Neighborhood: Located in a building in Foz do Douro, a seaside area known for its sandy beaches, such as Praia da Luz and Praia do Ourigo, as well as eclectic restaurants serving international and Portuguese cuisine. There is a zero-tolerance smoking policy on the property. If our team discovers evidence that this rule has been violated (for example, the smell of smoke, ashes, cigarette butts, etc.), a minimum fee of €200 will be applied for smoking. If you wish to request a late check-out, please contact our team to check availability. After the authorized check-out time, a fee of €200 per hour will be charged. In case of lost keys, a fee will apply (upon request). If you leave the keys inside the apartment and need our team's intervention to open the door, a fee of €40 will apply after 7:00 PM. The issue came when we only had 1 towel each, and no bath cloths. I contacted them as soon as I got in because we wanted to go right to the beach. They said it would cost extra for extra towels. As soon as they sent the link to pay for the towels, I immediately paid and asked if the towels could be delivered same day. They responded and said towels would be delivered “today or tomorrow.” That was upsetting. So, we took a shower and the drain was clogged, so much so that the water overflowed out of the shower and onto the floor. I contacted them and their response was someone would fix it “today or tomorrow.” Since no towels showed up, we went to get something to eat. When we came back there were towels, but it was dark by then. The shower was also unclogged. The next day, we went to get something to eat and noticed that the bathroom floor was dirty, and then realized the shower drain cover had been removed. That means they came back into the apartment while we weren’t there, and we weren’t notified. This just left a bad taste and that’s why I am only willing to give 3 stars when honestly, I’d want to give less because of this alone.
