Avoid this terrible apartment. Worst service ever
Terrible apartment. Terrible service. Check-iin was very difficult and the room was mis-described. We left and did not even stay. Several guests were complaining at the same time. There was no reception, it is being decorated. It is all remote from Spain. I am awaiting a refund. Worst experience ever on Hotels.com

As some other reviews mentioned, this property doesn’t have 24-hour service. I can’t tell what hours customer service works, but initially they were responsive. Upon arrival, the provided door code didn’t work. If you check in outside of the hours that cleaning crew is there, you risk being stranded. I say this because the very last night, it appeared that the front door stopped working for all guests. I immediately raised the issue to customer service via chat. After a few minutes dealing with their bot, it said I’m being connected to customer service agent. This was almost 72 hours ago and no one still has responded. Luckily, someone was able to open the door from the inside. I’ve since left the property and will not stay at any of their properties again and I recommend you do not either. The risk and terrible customer service is not worth it.

Not a good experience
No one at the proterty to help. Ckeck-in is done online and it took multiple time before it accept the passport photo. Soneone triggered the fire alarm before midnight, but the property cannot do anything until the next morning!!! The alarm just ring for the whole night.

A great place for the price once you get in.
The online paperwork, was a little of a pain and having to find a place to get Wi-Fi access so I could get the cobe was inconvenient, but once we got in I was surprised by how good the place was. A move selection of food and drink in the room. Tools to let you self cater, a nice view in our room 2b. A great place for the price once you get in.

The staff were so helpful and kind. Great breakfast each day and in a very central location. When I go back to Porto I will definitely stay with them again.

Very clean and comfortable and great value for money. Did not go there for the amenities. But they did have s nice continental breakfast and the air conditioning worked great.

The hotel was easy to find with our GPS and we were able to park across the street. The hotel was an easy walk to the old part of town and there were several restaurants nearby. We were welcomed and given much information about sightseeing and how to get to the interesting places. I would highly recommend this guest house.

Overall, the guesthouse was fine, the host was pleasant, the area was nice. However, wifi wasn't working 90% of the time, and the toilet button was very hard to press. It would be nice if the guesthouse offered breakfast since most of options in the area include only pastries.

Pros: We had a spacious apartment to accommodate three of us at a reasonable price. The apartment was clean with a functional kitchen. Cons: No phone to call reception (which was in a nearby guesthouse) No breakfast served (hard to find nearby as well)

Quiet, modern hotel close to centre
Cosme is a cool, modern hotel within 15 mins' walk of the centre. We received a very friendly welcome, were offered drinks and given a very helpful introduction to the city and a map marking key places to see. The room was bright and decorated nicely and looked out on an attractive, quiet side street. There was a kettle and coffee and tea provided. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic - a generous selection of breads, pastries, jams, fruit, cereal, eggs etc. all presented nicely on a sideboard in an attractive breakfast room. A really nice place, perfect for exploring Porto. We'd definitely stay again.

Lovely Guesthouse
Lovely guesthouse, centrally located and only 5 minutes from the metro. Welcomed on arrival, and given a map of the city with directions which was really helpful. Breakfast is lovely and varied slightly daily, but tended to be cold cuts (variety of cheeses, hams/meats) and bread, cornflakes, jams and a few sweeter cakes/biscuits. Lots of coffee, tea and juice available too. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable. Could perhaps do with an additional arm chair as the sofa only sits two, but otherwise pretty perfect.

Lovely but chaotic in the morning.
Lovely place with clean rooms, breakfast was chaotic, not enough tables, first up was best fed, tables not cleared off. Local area is ok not city centre but a 15 minutes walk away.

Brilliant apart/hotel excellently located
This guesthouse is excellently located just on the fringe of the central city enabling walking direct to city sights by descending to the town or straight onto the Ponte de Dom Luis I bridge to access Gaia's waterfront. It's a short walk to the metro which links very conveniently to the airport. Our room was great with modern clean fittings, kitchenette and bathroom. Several good supermarkets are close-by and a great breakfast was provided. The staff were very pleasant and provided excellent information to enhance our stay.

Friendly staff, convenient, clean - great choice!
This hotel was amazing for the cost. We got more like a suite of rooms than a single room. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was continental in style but with plenty of choice. The centre of Porto was about 15 minutes walk away and the area feels safe to walk in. Nice places to eat nearby. A great hotel. I would highly recommend it and it was all topped off with a complimentary glass of Port upon departure.

Great Guesthouse
This is a guesthouse that consists of 3 levels and 7 units in total. It is a great alternative to a branded hotel. The location is within walking distance to all the main attractions. Breakfast is included and have plenty of selection.

Great little gem in the center of Porto
We stayed in this hotel for three nights. When we check-in, we were greeted by the receptionist who was super friendly, make sure we had everything we needed plus a mini introduction on what and where things are in Porto on the map. The location is great. Just away from the main center from the noises and bustling, but still close enough, about 20 minutes walk. Granted, Porto isn't a big city and everything is within reach on foot within 30 minutes.

Absolutely awesome B&B in a great location
We stayed at Cosme Guesthouse for 5 days in July. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed so warmly and given a clear explanation of the city and points of interest, as well as several maps. We also were given recommendations for places to eat that were close by. The place itself is a lovely, very modern and well designed building. The rooms are so beautiful and welcoming - they have high ceilings, large windows, and a tiny compact bathroom that works perfectly. There is air conditioning too if the days are too hot. The breakfast was a basic buffet-style meal, with a great selection of baked goods and some fresh fruit and vegetables. The staff is so incredibly helpful and welcoming. It was my birthday while we were there, and I came home to a nice note and a red rose wishing me happy birthday. How thoughtful! The ONE thing that was a bit of a challenge: the floors/walls are slightly thin, and each suite has laminate hardwood. So you can hear heavy footsteps and thumps and bumps very loudly. If your neighbours are quiet, it shouldn't be a problem. But we had a child stay next to us, and the screaming and thumping and banging around kept us up one night late into the evening. But

The most impressive aspect: the staff read my emails and responded with help even before I arrived, arranging a night at the neighbouring guesthouse (same owners) next door when an extra night was needed. But even better, when I arrived, they had all the details of my need to leave early in the morning, had left an amazing breakfast spread for me in my room so I could eat early, and arranged for the bag I was leaving to be transported between the two guesthouses...I was impressed at the level of thoughtfulness to meet my needs. On top of that the room was very lovely and had everything I needed.

The guesthouse is nicely decorated, VERY clean and the staff extremely nice. Breakfast had a great presentation and was wonderful. The following are facts one should be aware of prior to booking: 1. There are 3 guest rooms on the third floor which are 39 stairs too much if you have more than a light backpack. 2. The neighborhood is not very safe looking. 3. The mattresses are hard and uncomfortable. 4. The bathroom was tiny- no room to put toilettries, but no worries there's no chance one could fall in the shower...but difficult to soap your back. 5. Tv was tiny. If you are a young student you will be very pleased but if you are at a point where your back starts complaining - rethink.

Excellent hotel, a huge plus is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The room was a little uncomfortable for a family since the home is an older but beautifully redone home, but rooms are awkward in design and did not provide some privacy given the design of the two bedroom rooms. The rooms with one bedroom were much nicer. Breakfast was very nice. Overall a great place and would stay there again.

The Guesthouse is well situated within easy reach of transport and in a quiet and pleasant residential neighborhood, central enough but not hectic. The staff couldn't be more helpful, orienting you with maps and welcoming you with a glass of Port wine, the breakfast is excellent and the decor is fresh, modern and arty.

Wonderful guest house in quiet location
We travelled as a family of four including two children under ten years during the May half term break.. We were delighted to be offered an extra breakfast on arrival as we had arrived so early, and were made to feel so welcome straight away. Cutting to the chase, the staff could not have been more helpful, the food was excellent, the air con was cold, the room was clean, comfy and spacious and the location was great. It was around a 10 minute stroll into the centre but there are bars, cafe's and ice cream parlours on the way. Porto is a fabulous city and geat for a stay. Take your swimming costume and get the tourist bus to the beach in the warmer months.

AWESOME hotel
Okay having traveled to many places in Europe this is bar far the best experience I have had in hotels... To start off we arrive on a raining day and were received so warmly by the Sara, the receptionist. She made our whole group (2 couples) feel at ease and served us w/ porto wine and some crackers while she showed us a map of the city and the main places to see. The hotel is well situated and we could walk anywhere from there. There is free street parking, wifi and a delicious breakfast in the morning. On our last night we were delighted to find in our room two glasses of white porto wine and a plate of cheese for our enjoyment in our last night in this beautiful city! I would definitely recommend booking this hotel!

Pros: This very old building has been nicely refurbished. The room was large and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was provided was fine. The price was a good value. Cons: The hotel does not have an elevator. Our room was on the third floor, so my husband had to carry our 50 pound suitcases up three floors. The hotel is not within walking distance of the city center and there is really not much nearby in the way of restaurants or attractions.

When we first arrived this area looked a bit sketchy and I felt like I had booked a stay at something that at first sight looked like a hostel. Our host was so friendly though that he changed our perception very quickly. He offered us a drink as soon as we got there, showed us our three-room suite (there were four of us) and when we told him we had to leave early for the airport and if there was a way to have breakfast at 6.30am he even went out of his way to create a really nice breakfast tray for us (bread, four different cheeses, yoghurt, marmalade, milk, etc.) and dropped it off at our room at 11pm. Very nice gesture and totally made my day!

Great Experience in Porto
The Cosme Guesthouse was a great place to stay while we explored Porto for a few days. When we first arrived we were greeted with a glass of port and given a general overview of the city, which was excellent to help us get our bearings. They provided us with several restaurant recommendations, sites to see, and some details about Porto overall. The room was clean and comfortable and overall, the only negative was that the hotel was located outside the city center, so on the few nights we were there that it rained, we weren't always up for walking back out to go to dinner. Overall, a great experience and we'd definitely stay here again!
