Warm, cozy, and charming 2 bedroom (plus loft), 1 and 1/2 bath genuine 100+ year old authentic log cabin! Sleeps 6 in beds and 2 more on a queen sofa pull-out couch. Unplug and enjoy getting away! Just a short 3 minute walk to the fantastic Lake Huron beach. Situated off the beaten path, on a gravel road surrounded by pine trees with a grassy side yard for outdoor play. Just located 1 ½ hour drive from metro Detroit in the beautiful “Thumb”, this is the up north escape you've been looking for, minus the 4+ hour drive up I-75\. Here’s your chance to unplug and enjoy. This log cabin, a throwback to simpler times but with some creature comforts, such as streaming, WiFi, central air and heat, a fireplace, and hot tub, provide simpler things a vacation has to offer. Lake Huron, games, puzzles, books, toys, and much more are there to help you relax and reconnect with your family. Situated just a short walk (5 driveways) on a gravel road to the incredible Lake Huron "Gold Coast" sandy beach and park. Walk into the front door of this 800 square foot cabin from the 9x21 foot front deck and you'll instantly feel relaxed and content with its hardwood floors, knotty pine walls, log beam ceilings and charming atmosphere. The 12 x 14 living room features 2 couches (one is a queen-sized sleeper sofa), a ceiling fan. This is an authentic log cabin. There is a gas log fireplace that keeps this cabin warm and cozy on chilly nights; and 2 ceiling fans, to keep you cool in the summer. The well-appointed kitchen features an electric cooktop, sink, beautiful custom wood cabinets, fully stocked with pots/pans, flatware, dishes, glasses; small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster, waffle iron, crockpot, skillet, toaster oven, hand mixer, and blender. The dinette is surrounded by windows overlooking the beautiful pine trees. There are 2 bedrooms and a sleeping loft, with blankets, sheets and pillows. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed with two night stands; the second bedroom has 2 bunk beds. The loft is accessible by a wooden ladder and has a queen-sized mattress. Because of the low head room and the ladder access, this area is perfect for adventurous kids. The sofa in the living room pulls out to a queen-sized bed. The cabin also houses one and one half bathrooms. The log shed on the property stores stack chairs, and 2 bicycles, beach toys, and a wagon for your convenience to take toys to the beach, plus additional storage. A 6 x 10 deck is on the north side of the cabin, ideal for reading a book and hearing the whispering of the wind in the pine trees and waves of the mighty Lake Huron. It also houses the new hot tubs. Other amenities: 5 minute walk to Willis Market (grocery store); Port Sanilac shopping, marina, and restaurants are a short distance away; city water, ceiling fans in the living area and bedroom. There is an outdoor shower off the back porch to rinse the sand off after a day of playing at the beach or outside. The living room features a flat screen TV with Blu-ray DVD player, the main bedroom has a flat screen as well. The log cabin is an ideal get away for a couple or a family for a long weekend or a longer vacation. \*\*\*We wish you a fantastic time, enjoying all that the Thumb area and Lake Huron has to offer. From the moment we drove up to the property, we were so impressed with this very cute cabin. The kids were so excited to explore the vicinity and all were thrilled with the bunk beds and loft sleeping area! We spent our couple days at the beaches in Port Sanilac and Lexington and our evenings went by too quickly with the board games, movie nights and the outdoor fire pit where they enjoyed making some-mores! This cabin is already on our 2026 summer vacation agenda- just perfect for a great time and is great for all ages! We loved that they had bikes, and lots of sand toys for the kids. There is 2 different beach accesses that we could go to, which was nice. Was a little warm in the loft, after a 90 degree day, because the single window A/C unit couldn’t keep up, but nothing a small fan couldn’t have helped with. The cabin was very charming and plenty of room for 5 people. The property description said there was WIFI but was told before I checked in that there wasn't any internet. Cell service in that area was bad for Verizon. We used the gas fireplace until we realized there wasn't any vents to expel the carbon monoxide from the cabin. We looked for the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors but couldn't find them. My nephew was sleeping in the loft above the front bedroom so I was really concerned about the gases from the gas fireplace, we ended getting a couple electric space heaters from an old friend to stay warm. I think my experience would have been five stars if it had been during the summer time instead of the fall. I would recommend this as a good place to stay as long as it's rented in the summer months. ##### Paul D. One downer, though, is that my daughter was excited to make us an overnight baked French Toast brunch and all was made and then we noticed no oven! :( Don't know if it was specifically noted with all the details but if not, might want to specifically bullet: - NO OVEN. This is what we came for to the US! We traveled around for 5 weeks and our last stop was here by the lake in Michigan. We were lucky with the nice weather and spend almost a week on the public beach online 5 minutes walk from the cabin. The cabin is fully packed with everything you need to have a good time. Bicycles, a small cart to take a lot of stuff to the beach with, DVDs to have movie night, BBQ and fireplace outside, airconditioning in the master bedroom. Just a wonderful place and experience. Location is great walking distance to beautiful beach. It happened to be pretty hot the two days we were there so the cabin got a little hot since there is no central air but the back bedroom was nice and cool due to window air condition. The cabin is clean, organized, and authentic. Just enough space for our family of four. Georgous Lake Huron is just a short 2 minute walk away. We loved the wagon. beach chairs, and beach toys that were supplied. The kids had so much fun exploring the beach and finding petosky stones. They found a nearby creek along the beach and caught crayfish! We had delicious pizza at the nearby Applegate Inn, and enjoyed ice cream in Port Sanilac. The kids loved the bunk beds and the master bedroom was cozy (especially with the air conditioning unit in the window.) Highly recommend for unplugging and connecting with your family or loved ones. ##### Laura F. It’s cozy but that was nice. My kids are 7 and 4\. The 4 year old slept on the bottom bunk, the 7 year old in the loft. The top bunk doesn’t have a guard rail so probably best for older kids who don’t flop much! I had been worried about just one unit AC in the back room being available but with the windows open the breeze really gets the cabin cool . We hardly needed it (and I get hot easy so I was surprised). We walked to the nearby beach every day and also took the short drive to Lexington for their beach and a longer drive up the coast to the “Tip of the Thumb” at Port Crescent State Park, which has a really lovely and large beach. The lake is just gorgeous, and the water clear (and cold!) and low to no waves, perfect for littles. I would recommend water shoes as some of the beaches are pebbly. My kids enjoyed running around the outside of the cabin as well. They didn’t want to leave! We got to spend some nice time as a family and evenings reading since cell service was spotty and there was no streaming, which was honestly one of the reasons we chose it! ##### Hannah B. A true cabin experience just like when I was a kid spending summers on he Great Lakes. Not on the beach unfortunately but great place. Might not be for everybody but awesome fir sitting around the fire, playing board games and in our case, very near to our wedding venue.
