If you are looking for the beach though, its basically an hour away near South Padre. The bay area is a lagoon here so not the best for swimming. The deer just laid in the yard every nig My family really enjoyed staying here. We had an easy check in. The house was perfect for our large group. The picnic area downstairs was a great spot to just hang out. The only downside is the stairs if you have mobility issues or if someone in your group does. We enjoyed our stay, however unless you are here for fishing there isn't much in the area especially for kids. If you don't have a boat the nearest beaches are 1.5 hours away and the nearest grocery store is about 30 mins away. There are small shops that have essentials and fishing gear, but this is 100% small fishing village. We will definitely be back with a boat and rods next time! ##### Briaun P.
