This place is very quiet and serene. It’s meant for those who want to be off grid. We had cloudy nights unfortunately, and unable to experience the stars at night. However, the place requires to improve more on cleaning all windows, hood extractors, shelves, under the bed, ceiling fan in the lounge, dead insects caught in cobwebs. Bed linen, mattress protector, pillow cases were worn out. Strongly advise to buy a new set of bed linens, pillow cases and mattress protector. No power points on either side of the bed, even though it’s off grid, we still need to charge smart watches (since there’s no clock around the house) and other electrical gadgets on bedside tables. use), and I hope that I’m not asking for too much for a dress mirror? As the only mirror in the house is in the bathroom. If other guests are not fuss about the cleanliness, it’s a great place for them to stay. For us, we much prefer to return at the other accommodation that we have stayed for 2 nights, which was off grid as well. Sorry Heidi. Dust and insect corpses in and around the living area. The promised "welcome bottle of wine" did not materialize. Use by dates long gone on jars of jam, one even had been opened by the prior occupant, a knife used to taste the product, then returned to the cupboard. A used bedsheet still in the sofa bed from the previous stay (I know this as I shook dead insects from it) No liquid soap in the shower. On the whole the property is stunning, the scenery is captivating. The Lodge is deluxe with features - Hosts are on par - We are not bushwalkers - but the surrounding environment of the native Bushland is a breath of fresh air. The property could have been cleaner as I had to clean bath before use and there were a lot of cobwebs. Seemed like the place was not used for a while. The blinds were shut when we arrived and that wasn’t very welcoming. The link to directions took us up a dirt road unsuitable for cars and it was only the next day when we ventured towards Port Lincoln that we found the proper route -therefore I suggest that the owners send a welcoming email with good directions prior to guests arriving. These criticisms aside, it was a wonderful place to stay and bird lovers will not be disappointed! Highly recommend for a couples weekend away! ##### Verified traveller Stayed 4 nights in Jan 2019 ### 10/10 Excellent #### David , Adelaide Jan 16, 2018 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Bush Paradise in the Eyre Peninsula Wonderful relaxing stay - half way from Port Lincoln and Coffin Bay Access by reasonable but dirt roads so watch out for the abundant wildlife Not recommended for a fancy vehicle - we hired an SUV A 4 wheel drive not essential unless a lot of rain The walks are short and not strenuous with great views from the Ridge though we stayed at the lower unit Both units are quite separate The night sky is spectacular No ambient light out here or great phone reception either Perfect for couples needing a break from City life I would avoid on very hot days and bush fire is a threat that is well described and managed by the units water system if it was ever required Good shower No microwave though No Wi-Fi and limited TV with SBS and ABC in good reception but no good for commercial TV or the Cricket But you go there to get away from it anyway A perfect base for Coffin Bay and Port Lincoln 25 mins either way ##### David Stayed 2 nights in Jan 2018 ### 8/10 Good #### Melissa, Bendigo Dec 17, 2015 Liked: Property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Romantic and serene stay! Beautiful peaceful place to stay. Amazing serene surrounds and loved that there could be no contact with other people if you wished to remain entirely by yourselves out there. Very peaceful and nice, light and airy and seclude. Sold us was that I love a bath and together would have been nice . The picture advertised was the bath in the middle of the room so that's what I thought we were getting.
