Island Point Villas capture one of the most beautiful water and mountain views in Port Douglas. Facing north, the sun sets over the distant rainforest covered mountains - truly beautiful! Mornings can be spent watching white boats depart the Marina, heading east towards a day on the Great Barrier Reef. Ideally located on Island Point Road, it is only a short stroll to Macrossan Street where you will find our 'Award winning' restaurants, shops, boutiques and cafe's. In recent years, Villa 4 was entirely refurbished and comprises of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is perfect for couples, friends and small families searching for that ' something special'. Entering into its open plan living, dining and kitchen area you will find all you require is catered too. Large double sliding doors open to the balcony which runs the full length of the apartment... and here is where you will find yourself spending much of your time breathing in the views. Furnished with a day bed, outdoor lounge suite, dining table and BBQ. A master bedroom with water views provides a king bed, flat screen TV and open plan en-suite, complete with bath, double vanity and frameless shower. The second bedroom can be configured with 2 single beds or zipped together to provide a second king bed. Again, water views are captured through glass doors to the balcony. A second bathroom provides double vanities and frameless shower with the laundry area hidden within custom-made cupboards. This is a very nice condo with an absolutely stunning deck that looks out over Port Douglas harbor. The deck makes this place double good!In March, when we were here, it can rain a lot, and I mean a very very lot. The locals may be tired of hearing questions about the rain but they also have been trained to downplay it: "It's a rain forest, it rains," "the fish don't know it's raining, and (from a brochure) "Never before have so many people enjoyed the warm exploits of walking, running, eating and drinking in a summer rain" (ingenious because true even if no one is enjoying it). It's true the snorkeling and boat trip is fine in the rain, not true the rainforest is pleasant in a downpour.But I booked this great place knowing we could hang out outside on the deck and read and bbq and relax with stunning views, and we did. Like I said "double good"--nice place with a great deck.Some reviews of this condo complex mentioned you are up a steep hill from the town. Unless you have mobility issues or small children, this is not a problem. The hill is short, the location is great.Go to Port Seafood (on dtreet \*behind\* main Street and opposite Coles) and to the deli/cheese shop (delicious bread). Go to the market in the park at the bottom of the hill on Sunday and buy prawns and fruit. Feast out on the deck!
