This means that it is very heavily traveled, including by large trucks, at all hours of the day and night. It is also attached to a very busy restaurant and ice cream shop that make it difficult to even get into the parking lot and the guest accommodations are very, very near to the crowds waiting for and eating their food. As a result of the traffic and crowds, it is VERY LOUD and not the "quiet reprieve" advertised on the inn's website. The room itself is quite modest with somewhat dated decor and furnishing. The biggest issue with the room we stayed in was the mattress, whose contours mimicked the mountainous landscape of nearby Olympic National Park: hard peaks on the edges, sloping to a valley, and lots of springs. This sweet motor lodge felt like a kick back in time. If you are used to the big chain hotels be prepared for a “simpler” stay (no tv, but we knew in advance and were looking forward to a night without). The room was clean and had some nice personal touches (ear plugs for the thin walls, bottled water, etc). Loved the quaint feel about the place. Decorated very well with the use of vintage pieces. New owners have done a great job at making the place "up to date". It was nice without the TV. However, sounds carried from room to room and we could hear conversations in the adjacent rooms as if they were in our room.
