The Great Escape is a 3 story, 4 bedroom, OCEANFRONT house that is located on the serene Ponte Vedra Beach. This gem boasts a 2nd story main living area, a 1st floor studio suite with private entrance and a 3rd floor loft. Sleeps 8 Welcome to The Great Escape! This oceanfront gem is located in the heart of beautiful, quiet and serene Ponte Vedra Beach. The house boasts 3 story beach living with amazing window and deck views and outdoor spaces, sleeps 8 and has been completely renovated from the ground up! Our Beautiful Beach House is nestled on a secluded stretch of beach that has no public parking or access nearby and is only 8 miles from historic downtown St. Augustine, just minutes from shopping, dining and the best tourist attractions. The home has a newly remodeled, studio, mother-in-law suite on the first floor with its own private entrance, private kitchen, bathroom, sleeping space with king bed, living room, 55\` smart tv, laundry and outdoor space. The second story (the main living area) has amazing deck space overlooking Ponte Vedra Beach and the ocean and outdoor dining and grill that overlooks the gorgeous Atlantic Ocean. The main living area has an open floor plan with lots of sunlight, window views, eat-in kitchen and living room. The main level master bedroom has a king bed, and the second bedroom has a queen bed. The loft on the third floor has two addition twin beds for the comfort of your family and friends. Each bedroom has its own smart tv and clothing storage. The house sits just across from the Guana Ocean Environmental Reserve where you can hike, jog, kayak, and bike while surrounded by protected wildlife. More than 3,800 sea turtles hatch on Ponte Vedra Beach each year, and the Guana Reserve works hard to protect the wildlife that\`s right outside our door! Outside on the property, enjoy visiting on the large balcony that includes a charcoal grill, a picnic table for beachside cookouts, reclining lounge chairs around the firepit for relaxing, and the perfect hammock for an afternoon siesta by the sea. This section of beach offers a lot of privacy, sounds and views of breaking waves, amazing seashells and some of the best surf fishing around, so bring your poles and catch dinner! In the evening enjoy the firepit while kicking back in the Adirondack chairs to enjoy the cool ocean breeze with a bottle of wine. Beach chairs and beach games are also provided! There is also a storage shed if you want to bring your own beach cruisers, poles and surf boards. More than 1\. Quiet hours in town limits are from 9:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. and are enforced. 2\. Absolutely no smoking/vaping inside the house. If you are smoking outside, all cigarette butts, must be disposed of properly and not left on the ground. Please return all outside furniture if moved, to the original location. 3\. Maintain cleanliness at all times. Do not move furniture from its original location. 4\. Maximum of two dogs per reservation, and the pet fee must be paid at the time of booking. No pets on furniture/beds. 5\. Special events or gatherings/parties are not permitted during your stay. We must be made aware of the number of guests that will be staying and cannot exceed the maximum number of guests listed. Visitors are limited to two hours each day, not during overnight hours. No parking on the street please. Checkout Procedures: 1\. Please do your best to leave the house in good condition for the housekeepers. They very often have a limited amount of time to get the house clean and sanitized prior to the arrival of the next guest. 2\. Remove ALL food and trash from the house. Place trash in the garbage bins provided for you and take to the end of the driveway to be picked up by the public waste management department (Garbage is Monday) Bring all bins back up to house after pick-up. 3\. Start the dishwasher. 4\. Gather all used bath linens and place in the bathtub. 5\. The kitchen was very small with old appliance and not fully equipped. Definitely it needs some upgrade. The bedsheets and towels needs to be change. They were dark and old. The mats around the house were dirty. The bathroom also very small and uncomfortably with barely any space to place toiletries. The bedrooms were small with a super tiny unuseful closet. Which was full of garbage and has not a space for your luggage. We found roaches inside the house. The host was attentive and the check in was easy. The view and location of the property were really good but definitely the house needs to be updated. I won’t consider renting this property again. ##### Indira D. Beautiful uncrowded beach in September. We made the best of the rainy weather. St. Augustine is beautiful! The house had a few issues - the window on the main level was leaking badly and dripped all the way to the jnlaw suite’s door so we used towels to catch the drips. Our friends said they saw a lot of roaches in the inlaw suite, some of which walked on them during the night. The gas stove’s front burner dial came off and we needed assistance from the contractor to turn off the gas and the ignition. Other than that, we had a good time anyway. ##### Ursula C. They have everything you need for the beach. The house was a little smaller than anticipated, but the room below is a bonus! The kitchen could be stocked a little better. There were 4 adults and only 2 wine glasses. Also we needed a pan to warm up chicken and there was none. They were minor things. I would recommend this house! ##### Shari W. The beach is rightcout the door, which is exactly what we wanted. And there were no crowds to deal with. Most of the time we nearly had the beach to ourselves. Yes, the house was on the small side, but it worked for us. I would have liked a bit more space in the 1st floor bathroom (particularly the vanity area) but we got by. Enjoyed spending time on the porches and the firepit area when we weren't on the beach. The host, Brian, responded promptly on the couple of occassions we needed something. I would recommend The Great Escape to anyone looking for a low key beach vacation. ##### Gloria B. The downstairs suite is very nice a large king bed, sitting area, and kitchen. The only thing that would have improved the stay is more counter/pantry space, but it Is simply a space limitation that we worked with. Air worked very well. If you shut the door to the bedroom area, it gets a bit warmer in the bedrooms, but the solution is to open the door separating the living space from the bedrooms. Overall, the house is small but clean and works well. Even though the house sits on A1A, you really don’t hear any traffic from inside the house. The location and proximity to the ocean is amazing! The sound of the waves is constant. We spent many afternoons on the deck downstairs while watching the ocean. The ocean is literally in the back yard. Due to limited public beach access, you feel as if it is a semi-private beach. Would recommend this house and would stay here again without hesitation! ##### Kerrie H. Our son and family stayed upstairs with their dogs and my husband and I stayed downstairs. It is a perfect set up so we could all have some privacy. As soon as you open the door the beach is RIGHT there. The beach is very private with just neighbors using it. Sometimes we were the only ones on the beach with no one insight. We enjoyed sitting outside on the rear decks, eating and playing games. The breeze you get off the ocean made it much cooler. We took a nap in the hammock, used some of the beach toys that was provided, and especially enjoyed taking a quick rinse in the outdoor shower. A hose is also provided to give the dogs a bath before taking them back inside. The downstairs has a twin recliner loveseat for watching tv or just reading a book and the bed was comfortable. Upstairs has a larger kitchen and table for eating meals together. (Smaller full kitchen downstairs). Brian quickly responded to any questions we had and we’d love to return in the future. On check in we couldn't get into the house but the owner communicated with us quickly and resolved the issue. There was five of us (all adults) and my brother had the downstairs all to himself which worked out great since he had his husky with him and our fur babies were not completely introduced to her. They slowly got to know each other and became friends. The view was unbelievable. You are really there for that view. You are just steps away from the beach. We even saw dolphins. We had our fur babies and my brother who is a veteran had his husky with him and they had a great time. The house does seem smaller than the picture but it worked out seamlessly. The only thing needed is just a few more kitchen utensils for cooking and potholders. We ate out most of the time but cooked dinner one of the days. I definitely recommend this home to anyone. Not crowded at all since we went the week before Memorial day. You will have a wonderful time and of course your fur babies. ##### doris i. The location is amazing!! Only steps from the very private beach. We also enjoyed the fire pit area.
