Check in was smooth and front desk staff attentiveThe bad: very small for 2 adults and 2 kids, run down, and they are replacing the brick on the outside of the building, so the jack hammers starting at 8am…..Also, the closeness to the train means hearing the platform announcements every 30 min. Francesco and his staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. We travelled with our two children and arrived late in the evening and checked out very early. They arranged transfers direct from and to our destinations. The transfers were not cheap but we feel we paid for convenience and peace of mind. Our driver, Vincenzo was first class. The host was very kind to let us check in early as we arrived by train from Rome. Although this place is very close to Scavi train station, we arrived from Pompei center, a walk about 1 mile. We would have preferred a cab but they told us 20 Euro. We walked instead. We found out std. Cab fare 15 euro. Our return train trip next day was from pompei station. We asked the host to call us a taxi, instead it appears she called someone she knew and asked us to pay her 20 euro. I refused and instead paid the driver. That incident left sour taste in my mouth. I understand everyone trying to make a living. We later learned that we could use Scavi station to get to Napoli Garibaldi for 1.5 euro. Napoli Garibaldi and Napoli Centrale are in the same building! No problem at all to take escalator upstairs to depart for Rome or other points not served by Garibaldi station. As for the property, fine sitting area, a/c, bed comfortable, bidet and bathroom space fine. Single sink, and shower stall small but it all was fine. I would stay there again, but please know that there there are 2 train stops in Pompei, and 2 in Naples. You can easily avoid the ripoff 20 euro cabs by purchasing 1.50 euro ticket to get from one pompei station to other. Transfer from the 2 naples stations is just floor 1 to floor 2 with escalator. The two ladies, Milena and Rosa were extremely helpful and sweet. Checkin in and out was a breeze The property has great parking spots inside their gates It is literally a short walk to the gates of Pompeii Archeological Park Restaurants are 10 minutes walk, plenty and all serve great pizza :) The rooms were clean and the AC was cold!
