Enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic ocean, Cape Breton\`s rugged coastline and spectacular sunsets from every room. Kindly note that children must be 8 years or older to stay, pets are not permitted and maximum occupancy is 4 persons. Inside, the well equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook and dine in style and comfort, including an island with bar stools. The spacious living room is flooded with natural light and offers captivating ocean views and stunning evening sunsets. The home now features air conditioning. In the unlikely event you get bored of these natural wonders, we have a SMART TV and Wi-Fi for streaming movies or music. Outside, take in the fresh Atlantic sea air while enjoying a glass of wine or a cold beer on your spacious 500 square foot sundeck which has a BBQ and 270 degree views of the coastal and local mountains. Each bedroom has an ocean view. The master bedroom features a King-sized bed, an ultra-comfortable pillow-top mattress, premium bedding along, and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has an ocean view, a similar Queen-sized bed and its own bathroom. The home sits on a 1.5-acre property about 100 feet from an embankment, with a stone beach and the Atlantic ocean below. The ocean and coastal views are truly impressive. While it is not possible to climb down the embankment to the beach, there is beach access a short walk down the road (where you will also find a popular spot for swimming, beach walks and sea glass hunting. Guests need to be responsible for their own safety near the embankment as there is no guard rail. Location-wise, we are a short 5-10 minute drive from the historic Acadian fishing village of Cheticamp, which marks the starting point of the highly scenic Cabot Trail and the Skyline Trail (which is a must-see for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts). For golf enthusiasts, our place is a great base camp as we are ten minutes from Le Portage Golf Course and about 40 minutes from Canada\`s #1 ranked golf course -- Cabot Cliffs. Please note the following before booking: 1\. HOUSE RULES: No pets, parties, events, smoking, fires or cooking fish, shellfish or other strong-odor foods indoors is permitted. Quiet time begins at 10 pm. 2\. HOME SHARING -- We are happy to host a family of four or permit sharing by 2 couples or 3 or 4 adults. Maximum occupancy is 4 persons. 3\. GUEST SAFETY -- Guests are responsible for their own safety near the embankment on the property as a fall could lead to severe injury. \*\*\* If you can\`t find availability on your dates, need more space or seek modern accommodation elsewhere along Cape Breton\`s west coast), please inquire about our other listings in Cheticamp as well as our 1, 2 and 3 bedroom accommodations in Port Hood, just south of Inverness. Hike the famous Skyline Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Enjoy dramatic headland cliffs overlooking the rugged coast from the end of this level trail. You can enjoy an eagle\`s view of the Cabot Trail as it winds its way down the mountain. 2\. Enjoy whale watching and coastal tours offered by local operators. Watch for whales in the Gulf of St. Lawrence from the viewing decks. Moose, bald eagles, bears and numerous boreal birds live here. 3\. Enjoy live Celtic and Fiddle music at the Doryman Pub and Grill and Le Gabriel restaurants (just 10 min away). 4\. Le Portage 18-Hole Golf Course. Tee off beneath the Cape Breton Highlands. 5\. Museum/Gallery/Cultural Center -- At Les Trois Pignons heritage center you can dive into Acadian culture and the history of Chéticamp, view an impressive collection of tapestries, rare hook rugs and antiques. There is also a genealogy resource center. 6\. Hike to the swimming hole at the Cheticamp Gypsum quarry. This is a short hike on an established trail/ ATV track that leads you to a beautiful, secret swimming spot near Cheticamp. 7\. The location is convient to Highlands National Park, driving the Cabot Trail, and good local restaurants. We really liked Au Coin bakery, Last Chance Sandwich Shop, and L'Abri. The layout of the house is perfect as the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the home. Our hosts were quick to reach out and ensure we were informed of all special considerations for access and area interests. Kitchen is well equiped with modern appliances, utensils, plates/ dishes, etc. Beautiful view. Short drive to grocery store. Close to at least 5 restaurants. No stairs and bedroom/bathrooms on each side with common areas in the middle . Four sliding doors show off the amazing view . Host was very responsive and helpful . From the time we got out of the car and heard the ocean our blood pressure dropped 20 points. The unit itself is comfortable, clean and well equipped. Our only mistake was not staying here longer. The interior of the home is nicely decorated, and the kitchen is well equipped for meal preparation. We enjoyed our evenings on the deck watching the sunset. The location was great for trips into town and the National Park. The owner is extremely organized was easy to work with. He provided us with lots of information about the property and nearby attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to future visits. ##### barbara b.
