"The resort is right next to the action downtown and next to the Ferry. We loved to sit by the pool and beach all day and the night life in town was great to experience as well. The staff was the most accommodating staff that we have had in our travels. The cost of the resort is very reasonable for what it includes. We tried the Hibachi Grill and the Italian Restaurant. Both were very good! The kids loved ordering room service and it was to the room within the half hour every time. Eric was a great tour guide on the bikes and showed up some renewable architecture as well as the Ruins around the property. He also kicked our behinds in the pool with Zumba. I can't recommend this resort enough for a reasonably priced all-inclusive place to take the family. "

"Overall a very nice and quiet resort. The food and staff were exceptional. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had a great time. The resort and beach were clean with seaweed being removed multiple times throughout the day. Only downfall was being constantly bothered by locals trying to sell something while you were laying out on the chairs provided on the beach, it was excessive, but I guess to be expected no matter where you decided to stay in this area. The excursion options offered through the resort were pretty generic so we decided against doing those on this vacation. Very nice place to stay if you’re looking to just have a variety of great food and just lay in the sun. "

"I went there for my birthday solo. Airport Transfer was smooth and very quick. Staff made me feel so special and welcomed. My room was big, clean and away from noises. Lots of food variety for each meal. Fresh and delicious. On my birthday night staff brought me a cake with a candle and 6 of them started singing for me and left me a small cake in my room with a card to surprise me after. Service is excellent from front desk to cleaners to restaurant staff to bar staff, entertainment staff all are very nice, kind and respectful. You’ll feel welcomed. The entire hotel is Super clean. They are always cleaning the facility. They keep offering different kinds of drinks at the beach. Food and drinks are excellent. Coffee at the lobby cafeteria is amazing, I was obsessed by it. Entertainment staff are supper excellent and very professional. My favourite ones are Andress, Diana and the rest, I just can’t remember all the names. Every night I had a blast even though I was by myself. I recommend Rui Palace for your vacation. I gotta say I was impressed. "

"We have stayed at Viva Azteca and their sister hotel Viva Maya several times over the last 17 years. If you stay at the Azteca you can use the facilities at both hotels but if you stay at the Maya you can only use their facilities. The Maya is more family/kid friendly whereas the Azteca is more suited to adults. The Azteca is a little more expensive and has fewer rooms. I love the amenities! Our room was very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The buffet is very good and the specialty restaurants are fantastic. They fill up fast! The poolside grill offers pizza, hamburgers, fries, nachos, chips and guac, chicken wings, mini quesadillas and other finger foods. The bartenders are great and will remember you if you are polite and friendly. Tipping them helps a lot too! My only complaint about the hotel is the noise from other guests. The hallways echo very badly because everything is tile and concrete. You can hear people in the room next to yours, above and below. And I don't know why but the Europeans don't know how to whisper or speak quietly. We were awakened several times late into the night by them talking and laughing very loudly. And, our door had 1 centimeter gaps all the way around which also let in noise and light during the night."
