My husband and I went to the Royal for our honeymoon in mid-November. The resort is beautiful. The service was great. The food was pretty good. A GREAT first impression for it being our first trip to Mexico and an all-inclusive resort. Would definitely go back!
Cons: If you want a place with spectacular beach, this place isn't for you.
Stray cats roam the property, and they will come up to you at restaurants near the beach.
"close to the action and beach, very authentic vibe"
loved the look and feel of the hotel. staff was very kind and welcoming. the room I stayed in was right in the hotel lobby so the noise from the 5th avenue hustle and bustle was a bit loud. besides the sound it was a wonderful experience overall.
This was my second stay at this hotel and it was just as good as the first time in 2007. The front staff are pleasant and quite helpful with whatever you need. The hotel has a great location on 5th Avenue, right in the heart of the tourist area and only a block from the beach. The rooms are spacious and very clean, beds are a bit firm but I find this is normal for most Mexican hotels. The hotel has a lovely garden area used for breakfast that is cool and quiet. I highly recommend this property on value and cleanliness and would book again.
Very nice boputique hotel. Luiz at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. The entire staff is amazing.
I got a small studio # 107 room with all amenities, a great terrace with ocean view. Even though it is the "furthest" room from the sand it is just about 100 feet away, seriously! so you are right on a nice sandy beach, Can't do any better than that.
Playa Palms Beach Hotel is designed to give our guests an out of the ordinary hotel experience in a timeless environment …More
Location is very good to reach center of shopping and beach.
And all staff is very kind and moreover room is very clean and comfortable.
But facility as bar and pool is so..so..because very small size and close early.
Still small enough to explore on foot, Playa del Carmen has a relaxed, yet cosmopolitan feel, with a variety of hotels, shops, and restaurants ranging from causal to upscale. European-style sunbathing is common on beaches. Playa is a popular jumping-off point for day trips to Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Tulum, and other peninsula attractions, and a passenger ferry makes frequent runs to Cozumel.
