We arrived afer an 18 hr trip to La Pasion Hotel and were pleasantly greated with some red wine and brownies that eased up the travel stresses. Out stay in Playa del Carmen was the first leg of our Riviera Maya trip and we were more than delighted. Everyone at the hotel goes out of their way to assist, serve and make sure you have everything you need. Breakfast is served al fresco over looking the plaza while you are serenaded by a guitar muscician. We wanted to experience Playa like the locals and the staff's recommendations for dining & sites were a 10+. The beach club Zenzi was comfortable with great food. We would definitely return and highly recommend to our friends & family.
Very nice boputique hotel. Luiz at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. The entire staff is amazing.
I got a small studio # 107 room with all amenities, a great terrace with ocean view. Even though it is the "furthest" room from the sand it is just about 100 feet away, seriously! so you are right on a nice sandy beach, Can't do any better than that.

We were upgraded to a 3 bedroom villa ocean front. It was spectacular and the staff couldn't have been more gracious. Rooms were impeccable and the pool was perfect. The beach is not meant for swimming but the sand was full of fun for my kids. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to relax in a 5 star setting.
"Nice boutique hotel downtown close to everything"
I would recommend this hotel to everyone who prefers small boutique hotels to big commercial hotels. It is very clean, the rooms were very nice and quiet, stylishly furbished. Staff was amazingly kind and helpful. Breakfast was also ok. The location of the hotel is great, quinta avenida is basically a couple of steps away and the beach is a 10 minute stroll.
I have been to the same resort for the last 4 years, each year the beach has washed away. Since the ownership changed, the resort has done some renovations and changes to menu's (I was not fond of the new menu's). It felt as though the resort was more for profit than customer service this year although there were some regular staff that provided excellent customer service.
Great front desk people! Hotel needs some update. Air condition was great, tv and a fridge at the room. Would be great to have a coffe maker at the room.
Hotel have free beach towels and discounts for chairs and umbrellas and Mammitas beach. Hotel have some trip option to see dolphins and snorkeling. Overall hotel location was great but you could hear the noise from the bars at the room. Weather great!
Still small enough to explore on foot, Playa del Carmen has a relaxed, yet cosmopolitan feel, with a variety of hotels, shops, and restaurants ranging from causal to upscale. European-style sunbathing is common on beaches. Playa is a popular jumping-off point for day trips to Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Tulum, and other peninsula attractions, and a passenger ferry makes frequent runs to Cozumel.
