"I purchased a trip for my parents as a Christmas/Anniversary trip. They LOVED this hotel, could not have spoken more highly of the staff, food, amenities, their overall experience was excellent! I’m very happy with how everything turned out, as this was the first time my parents travelled by themselves in many many years. "

"Pampering abounds, and the views from every area on property is soothing. What a treat for a week of relaxation. Meals and housekeeping are all taken care of while you enjoy the sea, the pool, or your own balcony space. Each building of the property includes its own concierge, who delights in making your stay as magical as can be (Shout out to Esther! She was most wonderful to us). Many great classes and entertainment options are included at no cost. All in all, we had nothing to list as a "con", it was a big batch of "pros". As an aside, this property works with Amstar Transportation services for bringing people to and from the airport. You can book through the hotel or directly, and we found their service to be good as well. "

"We love Occidental at Xcaret because we love seeing wildlife when we travel. We also love seeing ruins and learning about the early history. The resort is beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful and there are plenty of food choices. We are vegan, so enjoy the many vegetables, fruits, beans and grains available. We also loved snorkeling in the circular stone ocean inlet. So many fish, corals, anemones in a protected area."

"Liked staff were friendly and willing to help you if you needed any assistance. 2 formal sitdown resturants have excellent food and 1 average buffet could have some upgraded features. Maybe 1 more formal restaurant should be added for better availability because you can't always get a reservaton on 1st try. Outdoor grills are great with excellent food. Room service except for our last moring was slow to deliver told 40 to 45 min but mostly took 1 hour to 1 1/2 hr. Food was cold but thank goodness we had a microwave. Contents were messed up a little example ordered lg black coffee got smaller pot with 1 cup next time received a packet of 4 cups & saucers, sometimes you got saucers sometimes not. Ordered a breakfast full meal plus an order of yogurt, sausage & fruit for another person got no plate to eat anything on. Sometimes silverware for 2 sometimes only 1 with just a knife and a fork for 2. Limited selection of food. Again glad we had mini kitchen in unit. No omelets/waffles on breakfast RS menu. Could go to buffet and get an omlet but was told we could not bring up to the room. Pizza and burgers not a formal dinner to enjoy a meat/potatoe/vegetables/desert meal in your room or a evening special beach dinner. No better dinner meals to select from but bucket meals of chicken etc were available for families & groups. Nice feature for larger group or a family. Beach needs some kind of a redo investment to improve the walkability by removing palm stumps and wood hazads."

"The property was great, we had a great time as a family. Our kids loved being able to eat cupcakes at all times of the day! The lattes were great too! The property was very big, lots of walking. It would have been nice for the shuttle to run more often especially during busy times like morning, late afternoon and evenings. We enjoyed the bikes to go off property. And loved our 2hrs of pickleball every morning. Our group had people age 1 to 76 and everyone had a great time."
