This is our second year staying at this property. Last year’s experience was exceptional. This year, not so much. We booked the same class room as we did the year (garden view - trees); check-in went smoothly…but the next day, we found ourselves being told that our “color” bracelet was somewhat limiting the experience we expected and experienced the year prior (I.e., didn’t give us access to The Lunch Box restaurant by our building (which we accessed last year), nor did we have access to the pool adjacent to our building, and part of the beach was sectioned off to learn that “we don’t belong there” with our color bracelets); definitely did not feel as we were in an All Inclusive 5-Star resort. No one at check in explained the new tier system and what is included and excluded, so we didn’t have to feel less than”. I also felt that the resort was somewhat understaffed compared to last year, which reflected on the staff. Additionally, the fridges in both of our rooms weren’t cooling, and it took reaching out to management to get resolved. Some color bracelets allowed people to make restaurant reservations first or have preferred times, so we had limited options when it came to dinners. On the positive side, I love how intimate the property is, the kids absolutely loved the amenities- water park, pools, beach, basketball, volleyball, sand soccer, shows…hope they move away from this nonsense tier system and charge more if needed to let everyone have an exceptional experience.
