Please NOTE- I now have new local condo managers that can address any issue while you are still on vacation should any issue arise! My penthouse is located in Playacar Phase I which is the PREMIER location in all of Playa del Carmen as it's in a quiet, low density gated neighborhood with private million dollar estates. It's is a 12 minute walk from our complex to 5th Avenue shops/restaurants/bars and the ferry dock. My penthouse has million-dollar views and you can throw a rock into the ocean from the balcony! This condo and complex is beachfront. You are not only renting from an owner, but a licensed travel agent! If the idea of a small beachfront resort, a short stroll (10 min) on the beach into town to try a new restaurant and having a private driver greet you at Cancun airport with an icy cold beer waiting for you appeals to you, look no further, you can stop your search! My beachfront penthouse offers ALL of this and more: 1) 24 hour security in gated community and on the resort grounds with 2-3 times the size of beachfront as other resorts and it's BOUTIQUE, just 50 units total!!! 2) Swim up pool bar with waiters serving you around the pool (you can also BYO but no glass containers) 3) Free use of kayaks, Hobie Cats, bocce ball, bikes and volleyball, etc. See Lifeguard for arranging these activities 4) Fitness center & Spa for massage and facials 5) Infinity Pool, children's pool and warm Jacuzzi 6) WiFi available in condo, throughout the resort & pool and beach- free of charge 7) Thermostat controlled AC & ceiling fans throughout the condo? 8) Fisherman's Village is a QUIET resort in a quiet gated community! Sure you can opt to stay 'downtown' in a newer condo or all inclusive, but don't forget to pack your ears plugs....you'll be hearing loud music, rowdy drunks, and party-goers till the wee hours of the morning. 9) On-site parking free for guests (no rental car? No problem...cabs are only $5-$6 to town) 10) Optional all inclusive plan $98/ pp per day including unlimited alcoholic drinks, 3 meals a day and snacks. Otherwise our a la carte menu prices is similar to Chili's in the USA. 11) Our gated community does not allow "vendors" on the beach at all, so you can relax knowing you won't be hassled to buy blankets, massages, jewelry, jet skiing, etc like you will get on the beaches "in town". 11) Beach and pool-side waitress serving! No other condo complex offers this. BEDDING: King in Master, Either two twins or a SPLIT-KING in 2nd room, and Sectional sleeper sofa in the living room. 2.5 Bths Fisherman's Village in the private gated community of Playacar, right next to the town of Playa del Carmen. It's perfect for two couples with a king and a split-king in the 2nd bedroom OR a family because the split king can also be two twin beds. Fisherman's Village is a family-friendly beachfront condominium complex with just 55 units in the quiet coastal community of Playacar just a 10 minute walk to Playa del Carmen. Fisherman's Village is known to be a nice quality resort/condo complex in the entire Yucatan Peninsula for it's elegance, fine service, and resort-like amenities such as a full service restaurant, room service, swim-up pool bar, full sized pool and a children's pool, water sports, jacuzzis for the complex, air conditioned gym, Spa services such as massages and facials. This unit has travertine flooring, slab marble counter-tops, central air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout. The entire upper floor is the Master Suite with huge picture windows out to the Sea. The bottom level features 2nd bedroom, bath, kitchen, living, half bath and dining areas and a large balcony overlooking the pool, beach and ocean. At night you can stand on any of the units balconies and see the twinkling lights of Cozumel across the Caribbean. Free for all guest's use at Fisherman's Village are the bicycles (please let me know if BIKES are a huge thing for you before booking), kayaks, and Hobie cats! Don't know how to sail? We have an onsiactivitiestes director that can help you! It's a fabulous place for adults and kids alike. Playa Del Carmen is located just 50 minutes South of Cancun and offers the same powdery white sand and turquoise waters, great restaurants and shopping-- without crowds of wild Spring Break partiers and towering hotels. In fact, Playa has a building height restriction to a maximum of 3 stories! Fisherman's Village is just a 15 minute walk along quiet cobblestone roads or the beach to the town of Playa del Carmen. Also within a short walk is the 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, the local aviary, and the ferry that takes you over to Cozumel. Most guests do not rent a car during their stay except days they wish to explore other areas of the Yucatan. If you plan on lounging on the beach, shopping and eating out in Playa del Carmen, maybe taking the ferry to Cozumel one day-- you may not want a car the entire time. There are steps to take to get up to your specific condo, but they are very manageable and the walk to the beach is quite short. You can take a road despite being a gated property to downtown, which is about 1 mile away so it’s quite enjoyable in the morning and there’s many places to get coffee if you want an iced latte, etc. The staff was very kind and the Caesar salad at the restaurant was delicious. There are umbrellas, but wear a lot of sunscreen because they don’t block the sun completely. That would be my only complaint. The pool is nicely sized for the size of property and the Jacuzzi‘s great. I really enjoyed the property size as you never felt overwhelmed with people. We definitely will be back and Pamela, the condo‘s owner, was fantastic with communication, tips, and advice to make everything go smoothly. This is the best VRBO experience I have had and I have rented from many. Finally, the view from the condo was incredible. ##### Christine G. The entire experience was wonderful. The condo, pool and resort is kept immaculately clean. The staff are friendly and provide impeccable service with great tasting food. The views are just as incredible as shown, which is great if you get a rainy afternoon. I loved just sitting and staring at the Palm trees swaying, turquoise water and ever changing clouds. The beds are very comfortable, great kitchen.We enjoyed the walk into town along the lush boulevard with Mayan ruins and beautiful homes. We felt safe at all times. The massage at the spa, oh yes.We used the recommended driver from the airport and he was great, he took us to the grocery store, then the condo manager took us for a second trip for a small fee and helped us maneuver. We had a heavy rainstorm one night, and noticed a water leak. The condo manager had the roof inspected and repaired within hours of our contacting him. I highly recommend this place. ##### Elaine S. First of all the condo was clean, comfortable, and OMG the veiws of the ocean and pool area were fantastic! I've been to this resort before and always am impressed by the staff and the prperty as a whole. The pool, swim up bar, comfy lounge chairs make for a really nice way to spend the day! Fishermans also has Kayaks, bikes, volleyball, and classes available for free. The beachside restaurant is a great, convenient place to get a cold drink and great food that doesn't cost much at all. If all the tranquility is too much to take, the craziness and fun of 5th Avenue is a short 10-15 minute walk through a beautiful tree lined neighborhood. Finally the condo owner Pamela was super nice and had answers for all my questions with very useful recommendations. I'll definately be back! ##### David C. The master bedroom is spacious and is upstairs. Our daughter had a spacious bedroom on the main level. Gabe was the property manager and helped us with water and excursions. There were 2.5 bathrooms which was nice as well. The resort is not crowded at all, as resorts down the beach were packed. Beach chairs were super comfy and we had lunch everyday at El Pescador, the beach side restaurant. We ate at restaurants that were recommended and they were all fantastic. No complaints! The only thing that needed attention were the windows overlooking the beach. They really could use a cleaning. Other than that, we loved the Fisherman’s resort and totally felt safe the whole time as it is a gated community. ##### Sue M. The condo itself was immaculate, spacious, and tastefully decorated, providing a perfect blend of comfort and style. The kitchen was well-equipped with modern appliances, making it easy to prepare meals. The living area was cozy and inviting, with large windows that allowed for plenty of natural light. The bedrooms were serene and comfortable, ensuring restful nights throughout my stay. One of the highlights was the private balcony, where I spent many mornings sipping coffee and evenings watching the sunset. The beach was just a few steps away, making it incredibly convenient to enjoy the sand and surf whenever I wanted. Additionally, the condo complex offered excellent amenities, including a sparkling pools and large jacuzzi. The location was perfect, with easy access to local restaurants, shops, and attractions. The owners were attentive and responsive, ensuring that my stay was seamless from start to finish. The property manager Gabe was friendly, courteous, and extremely accommodating as well. This property is exactly as described and what the pictures show. Amazing views of the ocean, which is 50 feet from the condo balcony. The condo is comfortable and spacious. The property itself is a resort. The staff are very friendly, professional, helpful, and always available. One of the big benefits of this property is how quiet it is. Playa del Carmen can be noisy and has an active night life. Avenida Cinco is an 8 minute walk away, but none of that nightlife was apparent at the property. It is a hidden oasis. There are two restaurants on the property. The main restaurant off the lobby is open for breakfast (until 11!) and dinner, and a poolside, ocean front bar serves in between. Both are absolutely excellent! Far better than we anticipated. The breakfast buffet is incredible. Dinner menus change nightly. We tried it all, including short ribs, fresh lobster grilled tableside, a variety of fresh fish, and so much more. Even our kids loved it! There is no store on property, so for any supplies (coffee, snacks) you have to walk to town, which is about a 10 minute walk through a quiet, luxury neighborhood. Look for the OXXO store and an upscale mall. My one complaint is that the onsite VRBO property manager was MIA. he is slow to respond via WhatsApp and never showed up on property, despite many promises. This condo is exactly as shown and described, a beautiful, modern and updated space and very comfortable. Pamela is a fantastic hostess--so responsive and we greatly appreciated all her help in planning our trip as we were not familiar with the area. Her manager and cleaner were awesome. We paid for the mid-week clean and it was so worth it--Gabby did such a good job, down to folding our clothes and organizing our charging cords! We hired Gabriel to take us on an excursion and were delighted to find he was an Omaha boy like us--the trip was great and cost significantly less than if we had booked it online. He took us to a little-known cenote which we basically had to ourselves and to swim with turtles in Akumal (that part I would skip in the future--pricey, we only saw 2 turtles and I got very sea sick). At the end of the trip he introduced us to birria at a little hole in the wall local place that he loved and was SO good--we would have never found or thought to try that on our own. He also responded promptly to any texts/questions we had. We walked over to 5th Ave most days and tried several restaurants on Pamela's list--they were all great. The only one we didn't like was the resort restaurant--just not our style. The snack bar was great-wish it was open for dinner. Highly recommend this VRBO! Taxis are more expensive that expected (start at $25 US for a short ride for 5 people) so if you are comfortable, rent a car to save $. ##### Anne R. This was our first time to stay in one/two of Pamela’s condos. We arrived one hour early with groceries and luggage and were kindly allowed into our condo. The a/c upstairs was being worked on. As we started to relax, we noticed the condition of the condo. Every surface was covered in a thick layer of dust. Including linens and bedding. We began wiping surfaces off with towels. Found a dead bug on one of the beds. The floor was a mess. We swept. There appeared to be a dried blood on the floor. I messaged and sent pictures to the host, letting her know of the a/c work and the mess. She advised we could stay in her other condo. We walked there and the view was not to our liking-a roof top largely blocking the ocean view. After a/c work was completed when we went upstairs to clean. The smell of solder/burn was strong. As we dusted, we saw crawling bugs on the wall next to the primary bed. The floors were gritty. Our throats began to get sore. We messaged the host, inquiring if we could get a refund if we found somewhere else to stay. With no reply and the air quality affecting our throats, we repacked the groceries, found the bellman and moved to her other condo. That condo had issues, too. Plumbing fixed 2 days later. Ants in the kitchen. Returning to the 1st condo was offered, but the bugs and dusty linens deterred us. Not a good experience. ##### Mindy H. Penthouse was big and clean with gorgeous views of the ocean. Lots of room for us 5 family members. Kitchen has everything you need. No elevator but once up the stairs its worth the views! Marcello always helped with luggage and taxis. Jesus and Emilia were good fun ambassadors with fun activities to do while in the pool or beach. Miguel was a great transport to and from the condo and even stopped at walmart for us to pick up groceries for the condo. Owner is nice and responsive. Property manager is kind also. Our family of four loved our stay -- the condo is the perfect size with 2.5 baths and 2 bedrooms (a very spacious master with a great view.) The pool area is very nice along with an extremely friendly, service-minded staff. We also received excellent, prompt communication with the property manager as well as Pamela, the owner. Just one thing that brought my rating to a 4-star in terms of the listing -- I asked at the concierge about using the paddle boards/water toys and they said they didn't have anything for the water.
