There were definitely highs and lows to staying at this resort -
The good:
For the most part the service at the restaurants and the food we're really great. We loved La Isla and Rincon Mexicano, Shayla and Luis provided excellent service. Lomas Travel helped us book a boat day that was stellar
The not so good:
The inefficiency in the reosrts processes and lack of hospitality to guest experience was crazy. We spent so much of our vacation at the reception and concierge desk scheduling basic services over and over because the resort made everything so difficult and nonsensical. Booking airport shuttles and spa services would require 3-4 visits to the desk to get set up and there would still almost always be confusion when we arrived. Communication between staff was poor. They tried to make guests with flights 7 hours apart take the same shuttle ot the airport, they charged spa services to the room after we had been several times to set up payment via a gift card prior to the appointment. It just wasn't a super relaxing experience to have to deal with all the administrative shortcomings and miscommunications amongst staff.
The beach is also not as pictured - there are huge manmade cement blocks in the water and tons of brown algae and seaweed along the shoreline, it wasn't exactly run in and frolick water.
We still made the best of our time but I will not be returning to this resort of any other Lomas.
