Only your group and the onsite staff, who have separate detached housing, will be on the island during your stay. This uniquely designed island includes 5 private suites with their own large open air thatch roof bathrooms, specifically laid out to take advantage of the amazing sea, mountain views and the cool trade winds. Little Harvest Caye is a 1.5 acre private resort island that is located just 3/4 of a mile from the center of Placencia Village which is just a short 5 minute boat ride all in protected smooth waters. The Little Harvest Caye boat stays out on the island along with its captain and is available to take you back and fourth from Placencia based on your schedule. The island is uniquely situated to have panoramic views in all directions of the Maya Mountains, open ocean and Placencia Village. Pictures and words don't do justice to the island, the accommodations and the amazing staff. We felt welcomed from the first minute, and our time flew by. The staff were unfailingly kind and thoughtful, our meals were impeccable, and we never got tired of the island's natural beauty. We passed our days with epic games of cornhole & bocce, swimming, lounging in the many comfortable seating areas, and just enjoying the 360-degree views. Lovely accommodation and the food was delicious.There was plenty to do on the island (kayaking,swimming,fishing) and lots to do on the mainland. The local town is charming and has good food and bars and all the shops to make this stay a really memorable one. We loved the actual Island, really nice to have one to yourselves, obviously the views were sublime , but so relaxing to sit on your own beach and watch the Small boats and local fisherman go about their daily Iives,just felt very natural…. The owners/management included so many thoughtful touches that everyone in our multi-generation trip was entertained at all times and able to enjoy our week-long vacation. Bedrooms were large, clean, and well-equipped. Grounds were impeccable maintained. Common areas, pool, furniture, entertainment were stellar. Food was unbelievably delicious, healthy, and satisfying. Service was OUTSTANDING - every single request or inquiry we had was handled seamlessly. Truly a special property for making lifetime memories. This little island is immaculate. The beds were comfortable, the food and drinks were amazing (thank you Oscar!), and the staff was incredible! Our concierge, Heidy had everything planned out for us and made everything so easy and convenient for us. There was so much to do there that we were never bored and only went to the mainland just a couple times to shop. If I had to come up with one negative, it would be that the beach wasn't really swimmable (lots of seagrass), but the pool made made up for that. I can’t say enough about the staff they are top notch!!! The only negative I have is the parent company does not provide necessary equipment or funds to make necessary repairs. Most AMAZING vacation we have taken!!! Everything from the minute we arrived to the minute we left we were treated with the most caring,fun,compassionate crew you could ask for. The island itself is so beautiful along with each villa. They were decorated beautifully and so comfortable. Along with the beautiful island I can’t say enough about our crew taking care of us!! Ernesto our chef made the most Amazing meals 5 star (and we travel alot). We only went out to dinner one night because our food that good!! Raduel who assisted Ernesto and also took care of all our guest services was always smiling, full of fun and ready to help anyway.He also made the best drinks!!! Kendra also had our villas looking great everyday and also such a great personality!! And I can’t forget Jose our wonderful captain who was willing to take us fishing, sunset cruising and getting us to main land. Michael(Mr.M) was so fun too from helping Jose in boat to making sure island was looking beautiful for us!! I could write a book of our experiences!!! The dock and private boat made trips to the mainland easy and convenient, allowing us to explore the local shops, bars, and businesses in Placencia. Having golf carts at our disposal made navigating the mainland effortless, adding to the seamless experience. And let’s talk about the food— Ernesto, our chef prepared three exquisite meals each day, each one a culinary masterpiece. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and showcased the best of Belizean cuisine. Dining on the island with the sound of the waves and gentle ocean breeze was an experience in itself. Despite the luxurious relaxation, there are also plenty of opportunities for adventure. Jan 26, 2024 #### Luxury in the Tropics, Perfect place to relax with a good book. Little Harvest Caye is a wonderful, private island retreat a short boat ride from the town of Placencia. With 5 bedrooms it is a great gathering spot for families or a group of friends. The food is delicious and creatively prepared, the staff is wonderful and accommodating. It is a self-contained tropical paradise, with its own beach and pool. Multiple activities can be scheduled in advance, and some excursions will even launch from the island. You will feel safe and isolated from the crowds. The town of Placencia had several restaurants, bars and shopping, but did not seem overly touristy. You should spend some time identifying activities and excursions that interest you in advance. The tradeoff with all the privacy is that you lose the ability to walk out your door and into town. Although, the shuttle by boat is quick, my cell carrier did not have coverage, so I could not summon the boat when I was ready to return. You lose some spontaneity in exchange for your privacy. There are five private bungalows so you can have privacy within your group, but since the island is 1.5 acres, there will not be a mystery as to where you are. All-in-all, a first-class luxurious experience, perfect if you’re looking to get away from the crowds. ##### Ken M. Jan 8, 2025 #### Absolutely Perfect - staff, location, and views are over the top I have traveled all my life for my father’s work and then my work. I have never been so pampered and totally relaxed. The staff we had was Oz our concierge. He was so amazing. He made homemade drinks every day and would make whatever you wanted any time. Oscar was our chef - totally Michelin level. Every meal and I mean every meal was excellent. I’m pretty picky and I loved everything. Kendra was our housekeeper. She made sure that everything was clean and provided extra help as needed. This included doing our personal laundry twice during our stay. Last day to make sure we went home with clean clothes. Where else could that happen. And last but not least was Jazz and Michael they maintained the island. The beach and sand areas were always perfectly groomed. The palm trees were gorgeous and the coconuts were so sweet! The were also our boat captains to take us to the mainland or anywhere for an excision. Heidy while not on the island she was my first contact to set up our trip. She was very patient organizing two families. She took care of transportation. For the first time ever I had a trip with NO issues. This is unheard of. I spent the majority of my time on the island. The staff took such good care of me. They made what I thought would not be a good time was perfect And don’t forget to get the massages. All four of us had them twice. They came to the island and were the best I’ve ever had. And I go regularly. Don’t let the cost scare you- it is worth every dime and more! The only downside was that we couldn’t stay longer and we couldn’t take the staff home. We will be visiting and plan to make this a regular trip. ##### Roger a. Where do I begin? – Which is not a typical response when writing a review. Like most who think when renting a private island your expectations are high but never having the experience before, I’m not sure what criteria am I grading against? Well, for me it was a series of firsts (all good btw), upon our small plane landing in Placencia we were driven to a location dockside dropped off to be picked up by valet to take us to the island. Simple enough but in this case the valet service is nautical where you’re picked up by a friendly crew piloting a small comfortable boat, where you then take a leisurely voyage away from civilization gliding toward your private island maybe 10 minutes away but those last 5 minutes you see YOUR island, LHC grows bigger and bigger as you approach as the excitement builds. We disembark and our luggage is taken care of and delivered to your individual cabana. Now all I must do is walk 25 feet to enter into the beautiful, spacious palm frond covered roof’s central communal entertainment area which comprises of a beautifully wooden carved bar, freshwater pool, comfortable lounge area with couches and hanging chairs, pool table and large dining table where your meals will be served with your fellow guests. This area is open throughout our stay and available to all guests, so I was able to mingle as much or as little as I wanted. The cabanas were all that I could ask for, clean, comfortable beds. All cabanas are located with the ocean literally just feet from your patio door. If an ocean view is your thing, you can’t escape it. Like the others, my cabana had an ocean view from my interior room, a view from the bathroom, shower, and sink while shaving – all firsts! The proximity to everything made the trip effortless. A walk from my cabana to: breakfast, lunch, dinner, to the pool, to the beach all only meters away. My peeve with most resorts is the distance from room to the pool or beach is a milestone marker on my Fitbit, and if I forget something in my room – UGH! Not here, my cabana is only meters away. Yes, the food and staff is fantastic so my description is a little different from most reviews sharing details not usually referenced which I think makes LHC unique in the small ways that can make a vacation not just enjoyable but different in the best-est of ways! ##### Scott ### 10/10 Excellent #### brenda H.
