We are located just above Bigelow Blvd., so walking to the bars & restaurants of Polish Hill requires you to cross, and there is no cross walk, so we recommend a vehicle. Our area is a very quiet part of the city, with a mixture of older homes & new construction. Just a 10-minute drive to both Heinz Field and PNC Park. The Strip District is an easy 18-minute walk. Duquesne University and key Uptown locations are a brief 7-minute drive. The renowned Phipps Conservatory is a 12-minute drive away. And for those heading to the University of Pittsburgh or exploring Oakland, it's a mere 8-minute drive. Polish Hill is a charming diverse neighborhood right in the city, making it easy to get to Downtown, the Strip District, Lawrenceville, Oakland, and other key areas. Make the most of Pittsburgh's public transit, including buses and light rail. Just check the schedules to plan your trips efficiently. We are just above Bigelow, so a car is recommended, as it's a busy road that doesn't have a crosswalk (but there are stop lights, so it is possible to cross, if you're into a Frogger-type experience). Our home is at the top of a an outdoor set of \~30 stairs, so it's not suitable for guests with mobility issues. 1\. Smoking (or vaping) is not allowed in the house. Smoking is allowed outside only; please no butts on the ground. A minimum $1,500 cleaning fee will be submitted if evidence of smoking is found in the home. 2\. People other than those in the Guest party may not stay overnight in the property without prior notice. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest. The host has not represented this unit as an event facility, therefore, there is a limit to the number of any visitors at any one time (in addition to registered occupants) of four (4) up to a maximum of 9 persons in the property at any given time. At no time may any of these visitors remain overnight or assume any guest privileges whatsoever. 3\. The host is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The host is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises. 3\. Guest is responsible for all child proofing. Any child amenities (pack & plays, high chairs, etc.) shall be completely and fully inspected for satisfactory working order by Guest prior to use. Hosts do not inspect child amenities between stays, and any injuries resulting from their use are 100% guest-related. 5\. There is no daily housekeeping service. While the house has been thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and linens and bath towels are included, daily maid service is not included in the rate. 6\. We are very flexible hosts, and do not ask or expect our guests to clean prior to check out, other than starting the dishwasher. Nice setup that allows privacy within the same property. Our 14yo took over the lower floor , which has its own bathroom and kitchenette. 2nd floor has 2 bedrooms and full bathroom and kitchen. This is a great newly remodeled housen but it is onan older / less "kept" street having said that- we never felt unsafe at all and we had no issues. Never an issue with parking - there were always multiple spots available on the street right in front of the property. One thing to mention if traveling with older guests, there is a decent set of stairs to get from street to front door, and stairs from the basement apartment to the upstairs are pretty steep with a low ceiling. Note that this is very common in houses for pittsburgh and we had no problems at all, but my elderly parents would have found it difficult to navigate. These are just very minor issues - overall its a great place. Communication with host was amazing, they always responded to messages within a few minutes. We had a great stay, and i wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when the opportunity arises. ##### Dave A. Everything was new and clean! Nice having 2 living spaces and 2 kitchen areas. Beds were comfy as well. Owner was wonderful with communication and responded quickly. Neighborhood looked a little shady but I felt very safe and it was just 2 women staying there. Only suggestion would be that the couch areas be a little bigger/comfortable. Pictures may be a little confusing on line but it is a two level (stairs connecting inside) with one bedroom taking the bottom floor with its own bathroom, fridge, tv area and the upstairs having the full living/kitchen area, the other 2 bedrooms (one with single bed) and bathroom. it was very clean and had a cool vibe to it. Family who stopped by thought it was a great place as well. surrounding area from the university to the house may look a little sketchy but we never felt unsafe. there is a very friendly coffee shop we walked to one morning. its really a great location that is very close to Pitt (drivable 5 min), close to strip district, and very easy to get downtown. There is plenty of on street parking. Chad our host was very easy to communicate with. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would stay there again. ##### Kevin V. This was by far the best experience I have ever had booking with VRBO. The trip was planned last minute and boy did we luck out finding this gem! First of all booking and communication was a breeze- they even offered an early check in which was really convenient t especially when going on a short trip’ and want to get in your vibe as early as possible! It is definitely a standout home on the street I do t want to say anything negative because overall the home is fabulous!! but i was a little nervous cause the surrounding home were not the same level. however, once you open the door you are immediately drawn into this home. The decor and vibe is so perfect it’s spacious and feels homey but also on trend and fun!
