This property has one of the largest Mortero collections in the county (where early Native Americans used the local rocks to grind their grains and medicines). Set among mature Live Oaks, Manzanita and various pine trees, this spacious and serene getaway will take your breath away! We are close enough to enjoy everything that San Diego has to offer but a world away from the traffic and congestion of the city. There is just so much you can do year round - Mountain biking, hiking, fishing. Besides the beach and all the water activities, you can also venture into the desert on ATVs or Dune Buggies. Live music at all levels from concerts to cafes, Balboa Park, fine arts, fine dining and, of course, the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park and SeaWorld. Norwegian Woods is also a prime location for artists to spend time writing and painting as the grounds are an inspiration for quiet creativity. A couple downsides to our stay was no breakfast like it states in description, no bathrobes or slippers like also stated in the description. If you are at all sensitive to any type of paranormal senses you will defenitly feel it here. Front of the house is nice and comfy stays warm and cozy no issues walk into the hallway where the bathroom, closet and bedroom are and you can feel it ( especially in the bedroom and closet ), needless to say we left an entire day early could not take the overwhelming feeling of not being wanted there and being watched. For the amount of money we paid for a 2 day vacation it kind of sucked losing out by leaving but better safe than sorry i guess. It’s great being so close to San Diego but not having to stay on the city. Checkin was super easy and communication was great and made everything smooth and easy. Being able to unwind near the fireplace after a long day was amazing ! Coffee in the morning looking out the beautiful huge bay windows was the perfect way to start the day. It is a wonderful property. Cabin is roomy, has excellent amenities and was in a great location to explore the surrounding areas. The yard is expansive and beautiful with lots of nooks to relax in.
