Hotel Anacapri

Hotel Anacapri

8/10 Good
"First of all, the front desk staff is really quite outstanding. The hotel is located in a really ideal spot. The breakfast was good. The rooms are quite small and don't provide much room for much luggage, but the beds are comfortable enough and there were plenty of pillows and towels provided, Our only real complaint is GETTING there! We drove, and it is extremely challenging to get to Hotel Anacapri, then there is no parking once you get there. You cannot really use your GPS because it does not seem to understand how to get there due to roads that are closed from time to time or only open to pedestrians. The hotel knows this, so they will send you their own directions. The problem with those directions is that they are really equally unhelpful. For example, they are written as though you are coming from one particular direction, but we were coming from the opposite direction so their instructions were useless for us. They are also written as though you can easily see street names, which are often hidden or non-existent from the road in Granada. In the end, we put a pin in the location and used trial and error to navigate around pedestrian and one-way roads until we finally stumbled upon the hotel. It was VERY frustrating. Parking is a few blocks away -- but the front desk staff will help you find it and send you there after you have unloaded your car and put your bags in your room. They know you don't want to walk down the street with your bags."

Hotel Los Angeles, Granada

Hotel Los Angeles, Granada

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed in a spacious family room for 9 nights. It was nice to have space for 4 people. The room was cleaned daily and was spotless. The maids do an excellent job. The hotel has a traditional Spanish feel to it which we liked. Lots of statues and a grand staircase next to reception. It’s light and spacious with lots of places to sit and watch the world go by. Breakfast was perfect. Lots of free tables and it was never crowded. Lots of options for cold and warm food. Everything replenished in good time so you don’t have to wait for anything. Several juices and coffee are offered as well as various types of milk inc lactose free and milkshakes. You can eat inside the restaurant or outside on a small terrace which was nice. A nice pool that is big enough to cool down in. Sun beds and recliner deck chairs around the pool. There are meals available for lunch at the poolside. Food and drink was fairly priced. The staff throughout the hotel are friendly and helpful. They work hard but always have time to be pleasant to the guests. The location is excellent. A shop and bar within a few hundred metres and the edge of Centro only a pleasant 10 minute walk. The city is buzzing both in the day and of an evening. The Alhambra is a 15-20 minute walk. Allow yourself a bit of extra time as it’s an uphill walk. If walking isn’t your thing, taxis are fairly priced and there is a small bus up to the Alhambra which is well worth a visit. Overall it was a fantastic experience."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Pinar?
The best area to stay in Pinar is the historic Old Town, known locally as "Casco Antiguo."This central district is the heart of Pinar, characterised by its narrow, winding cobblestone streets, whitewashed buildings, and charming squares. It's a pedestrian-friendly area, making it ideal for exploring on foot. Key landmarks include the impressive Pinar Cathedral and the bustling Plaza Mayor, where you'll find numerous cafes and local artisan shops.Couples will find the Old Town particularly appealing. Its romantic ambiance, with hidden courtyards and intimate restaurants, provides a wonderful setting for a relaxed getaway. You're never far from a quiet spot to enjoy a glass of local wine or a delicious meal, and the evening strolls are especially pleasant. For those looking for a slightly more modern feel with easy access to amenities, the area just outside the Old Town walls, particularly around Avenida de la Constitución, is a good option. Here, you'll find a wider selection of contemporary hotels and shops, and it's still only a short walk to the historic centre.
When is the best time to go to Pinar?
The best time to visit Pinar is during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October), when the weather is pleasant for exploring.During these months, you'll find comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking in the Sierra de Pinar Natural Park or exploring the white villages. You'll also avoid the peak summer crowds and higher temperatures, ensuring a more relaxed experience.Couples looking for a romantic getaway often prefer the spring, when the wildflowers are in bloom, adding to the scenic beauty of the countryside. This is a great time for leisurely walks and enjoying the local cuisine in the outdoor terraces without the intense heat of summer. For travellers interested in cultural events and a slightly livelier atmosphere, autumn can be an excellent choice. Many local festivals take place during this season after the summer rush, offering a chance to experience traditional Andalusian life.
