Stayed at the expat recently and can't say a bad word about it. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of patong. Close enough to the nightlife that you can walk to it but is quiet so you can't hear any noise. The room met all our needs. The on site restaurant offers a good range of food and good prices. The on site bar offers a really good night out as there is always a mixture of guests and regulars to help you enjoy this. All staff were friendly and helpful. We were well looked after throughout our stay. I can't praise them enough. I do plan to return for a stay at the expat and recommend the hotel for anyone to stay in as there were solo travellers, couples and families there during my stay.

Great resort
Great resort to relax. Pool is exceptional clean and refreshing. Room has extra pillows which a major bonus. Don't turn shower all the way on if you want hot water. Half pressure and your fine. Restaurant in hotel has amazing food. Ate there a few times, every time was great. You can't ask for a better location.

Very nice with good bar and food. Only negative was the person who decided to repeatedly bang on his friends door in middle of night on more than 1 occasion.

Disappointed with Service and overall feeling
The pool site has an overall good feeling, a bit run down but still ok to enjoy. Rooms are small, and AC wasn't working correctly. Rooms are old and run down. Very disappointed with the service, especially from the front desk. Unfriendly, and not willing to listen. Even prepaid all my rooms, they wanted me to charge the double. They claimed that my credit card was not working. Check-out took me nearly 1.5h. Even they were running a scam, there was no sorry from their side. Traveled with a friend who booked over an other website and experienced exactly the same. I would not recommend staying there.

This is the third time in last 6 months, love the hotel with its own pool. The owners always make everyone welcome and personally speaks to all customers. The restaurant staff are fantastic ensuring your needs are catered for. The are always very well cleaned. Great hotel, back in April 2020

Overall it is very good.
Overall it is very good. The location of the hotel is very good, it is very convenient to go out, just walk, there are stalls outside, food is also delicious.

Very close to all the action. Bed super comfortable. Amazing pool. Massage staff and prices amazing. Front of house staff could be more customer focused. One particular staff member had her family staying at the hotel, her non disciplined son was running riot screaming punching guests, also pushing other small children in the pool whom couldn't swim. Instead of being corrected he was smiled at and thought it was a big game. Support staff having family visit as long as it's recognised there are other guests staying too.

Great three star hotel.
This is not a five star hotel. It was great for what it was. They have a nice pool, a great bar, best massage place I have experienced on this trip, and very friendly staff. I read other reviews where people felt they were being ripped off. That didn't happen to me at all. I will stay here again.

We had to be in the center of Patong and The Expat Hotel is just that, close to everything. Reasonable rate, cool swimmingpool and a quite location.

Good budget hotel
The Expat is where I usually stay in Patong as it’s very central,the rooms and bathrooms need a bit of updating.What’s bothering is there’s a lack of managerial presence as the staff tend to run the show,they party as much as some of the guests....think a bit more control is needed there

Sodom Sanctuary
Great budget hotel right off the main drag and blocks from the beach. Room was basic but comfortable and clean. The staff were the ones who make the place worth returning!
